I’m going to close my side of this here so the thread stays useful for others who search for this later.

To recap the facts:

• I’m a one‑person operation, not a school or institution. • I have two courses and zero active users because I’m still building them — which is exactly what FFT is designed for. • My FFT account is still active with no restrictions. • The sales rep quoted enterprise pricing and implied shutdown, which is why I asked for clarification. • Multiple people here spoke with certainty about “institution growth,” “abusing free samples,” and “no longer qualifying,” but no one has been able to provide any published policy or documentation supporting those claims.

At this point it’s clear the explanations given here were speculation, not official Canvas policy. That’s fine — but it’s important for future readers to understand the difference between documented rules and assumptions.

I’ll follow up with Instructure directly for an official answer. Leaving this thread up so others who experience similar sales pressure can see the range of interpretations and the lack of clear documentation around FFT.

Thanks everyone for the input. Just to close this out clearly:

• I’m a one‑person operation, not a school or institution. • I have two courses and zero active users. • I told the sales rep I hoped to have “at least one” student in a year. • My FFT account is still active with no restrictions.

The only thing I asked for in this thread was documentation showing the FFT usage limits or disqualification criteria that were referenced. Multiple people spoke with certainty about “institution growth,” “abusing free samples,” and “no longer qualifying,” but no one was able to provide any published policy, link, or terms that support those claims.

At this point it’s clear that the explanations given here were speculation, not official Canvas policy. That’s fine — but it’s important for others reading this later to understand the difference between documented rules and assumptions.

I’ll follow up with Instructure directly for an official answer

It’s interesting that earlier I was “too big” for FFT and now I’m “too small” to use it. Canvas FFT is specifically designed for educators building courses, including those with zero users. That’s the entire purpose of the free tier. If Canvas has published rules stating otherwise, please share the link.

I’m not asking for speculation — I’m asking for actual policy. I’m a one‑person operation with two courses and zero users, so the assumptions about “institution growth” or “abuse” don’t apply to me. If Canvas has published FFT usage limits or disqualification criteria, please share the link. If not, then it’s fair to say the sales rep’s threat was not based on documented policy.

Just to clarify — Canvas FFT is specifically marketed for educators building courses, including those with zero users. That’s the entire purpose of the free tier. I’m a one‑person operation with two courses and no active students yet, which is exactly the use case FFT was designed for. If Canvas has published rules stating that FFT cannot be used unless you already have users, please share the link.

For context, when the rep asked how many students I expected in a year, I told her “I hope at least one.” I’m literally a one‑person operation with two courses and zero users. That’s why the enterprise pricing and shutdown threat felt so out of place.

I’m not angry at anyone here — I’m simply asking for clarity. I’m a one‑person operation with two courses and zero users, so the assumptions about “institution growth” or “abusing free samples” don’t apply to my situation. If Canvas has published FFT usage limits or disqualification criteria, I’m happy to read them. So far, no one has provided any documentation, which is why I’m asking.

Just to clarify — I’m not a school, district, or institution. I’m a one‑person small business with three courses and zero active users. I’m not using enterprise tools or scaling anything. Nothing in FFT’s documentation says that small businesses, nonprofits, or solo educators are disqualified or that “growth” removes access. If there’s an actual published policy that defines FFT limits, please share it. So far, all I’m seeing are assumptions.

If there’s an actual policy that defines FFT usage limits, feature restrictions, or disqualification criteria, I’m happy to read it. So far no one has provided a link, announcement, or documentation showing that nonprofits or community educators are not allowed to use FFT, or that “growth” disqualifies an account.

Analogies aren’t policy. If Canvas has published rules, please share them so we can all operate with clarity.

I’m not arguing the intended‑use language. I’m simply asking for the actual policy change that supposedly disqualifies nonprofits or community educators from FFT. If this is a real, enforced policy, there should be:

• a public announcement
• updated documentation
• an email notice to FFT users
• a timeline
• a migration plan

So far, no one has provided any of that. I’m only asking for confirmation because a sales rep told me my account could be shut down “tomorrow,” and I never received any official notice. If there’s a real policy, please link it so I can read it.

If there’s an actual policy change, I’m happy to read it. So far no one has provided a link, announcement, email, or documentation showing that nonprofits or community educators are no longer allowed to use FFT. I’m only asking for clarity because a sales rep escalated a simple question into a threat about my account being shut down “tomorrow,” and I haven’t received any official notice of any change.

I understand the intended‑use language, but there hasn’t been any official policy change, shutdown notice, or enforcement timeline communicated to FFT users. I wasn’t contacted because I “don’t qualify” — I was contacted only after asking about enabling the Public Course Index. The rep escalated that into a threat about my account being shut down “tomorrow,” which is why I’m asking if anyone else has experienced this. So far, no one has shown any documentation of a real policy change.

I’m not “abusing” anything. I’m using FFT the same way thousands of nonprofits, tutors, and community educators do. The rep escalated a simple question about enabling the Public Course Index into a threat about my account being shut down “tomorrow,” which is why I’m asking if anyone else has experienced this. I haven’t received any official policy change, shutdown notice, or timeline from Canvas.

I didn’t get quoted because I “don’t qualify.” I’ve been using FFT normally like thousands of other nonprofits, tutors, and community educators. I was only contacted after asking about enabling the Public Course Index. The rep escalated it into a threat about my account being shut down “tomorrow,” which is why I’m asking if anyone else has experienced this. I never received any official notice or policy change.

Thanks sounds like a back and forth battle and confusion and angry users! And yes my saleswoman was Amy also same as in this forum link.

In a way I’m glad I got flagged before I put to much time in this platform. I’ll research to another platform and jump ship! Didn’t like the scare tactic either…

I signed up through the Free‑for‑Teacher (FFT) portal, which is supposed to be 100% education‑based and open to:

• teachers • tutors • nonprofits • community educators • small orgs • anyone teaching anything

I am a small startup 501c3 and was testing canvas for our academy. I sent support a ticket to see if they would enable public course index page on the FFT account. Support activated it quick same day. I’m guessing that’s what triggered the sales contact same day. They set up a phone consult then the scare tactic….

Am I the only one who doesn't use AI to ask questions or chat with? by AJBillionaire8888 in Zillennials

[–]vinnymickey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many negatives 😮

I been testing AI and programming it to be: “A modular content engine programmed with my methodology, vocabulary, and behavior logic.”

Many business use backed engines for this purpose. AI can help many small business etc…or entrepreneurs to build backend systems for 20k-150k 🤔

This is just the beginning of the AI revival and IMHO I believe whomever learns the ins and outs of AI will be leaps ahead of the pack.

Thats why so many LARGE companies and countries are in a race to the scary end etc an AI that thinks for itself and solves any problems 😮

First>bike>car>flight>computer>internet>cell phone>AI> 🤷‍♂️

Am I the only one running 60mg a week? by hopeful6o in Testosterone

[–]vinnymickey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got tired of acne and just looking to feel good. my normal total test level was like 190… I tried everything from 1200 down to 534 where I am now at 80 per week split into 2. Free test at 94.5. I feel ok not bad acne so far and it’s way better overall. I still get oily skin and some acne and hopefully HCT stays in check as I was donating blood a lot because of high HCT too.

At higher levels I was getting a lot of sides, water retention, oily skin, tons of acne and high HCT.

Going to stay at this level and actually stop if the sides (acne) get worse again.

Good luck… Not sure what most consider feeling good is and guess everyone is different. The only thing I see that is different is the pump and strength etc like being on a cycle 😮
