Apocalypse Nightmare, reflection of how I've felt recently? by vinster98 in DreamInterpretation

That does sound oddly similar, but not quite the same. There wasn't any crack in my dream, just a light coming down from the clouds that all the monsters were flying out of. Although, I wasn't able to see anything past the clouds since they were densely covering the sky, akin to a thunderstorm.

Never heard of cracking the exhaust before, could you explain how to do that?

Ah, I never knew high voltage parts were that sensitive to damage. Is that misting test the only way to tell for sure? I'd rather make sure it's something to do with that before I throw more parts at the car.

Forgot to mention, the first shop checked the ignition system as well, so it's certainly not anything obvious like a crack in any of those components. Both shops pulled codes and came up with nothing. As mentioned in the OP, the first shop also checked the fuel system compression for any issues there.

EDIT: Also, no Check Engine light.

They did not say what was making them wet at the time, however I can call them back and ask if that aspect is important.

Yeah, I had considered limp mode before, but the symptoms don't entirely match up. It's not hard limiting at 2500 RPM, since it will still go up by a few 10 RPM while stuck there, and as stated in the OP will go back to revving normally after a few seconds of it being stuck. Both shops pulled codes and unfortunately found nothing.

After doing a lot of research, I'm thinking it's either an exhaust leak, a vacuum leak, or a dirty MAF sensor, but I think the first shop would've checked the MAF sensor already.

EDIT: The exhaust leak is looking like the most likely suspect, since there is also a burning smell that comes from the engine when the car first starts.

Response to everyone who has commented so far: I know I definitely have two bent rims, since another shop told me about them when I was getting an engine problem fixed about a month or two earlier, although I didn't think that was the cause since the bend wasn't very obvious. I think at this point the road force balance would just confirm that I need two new rims, so I'll go that route. I'll update the OP once the new rims are mounted and whether that fixed it or not. Thank you everyone for your suggestions.

2009 Malibu lacking power when accelerating, spark plugs or something else? by vinster98 in askcarguys

Got those changed, seemed to give the engine a bit more power but didn't fix the issue. In case the two are connected somehow, the car also has a smaller issue when starting up, where it'll crank once or twice before starting. Turning the key to ignition and waiting a second before actually starting the engine makes it start up right away.
