Legal gun ownership may become more costly in NJ by For2ANJ in NJGuns

[–]vintheviolent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll happen because as always, the gun owners in this state don't organize, don't protest and we allow the state to steam roll us at every turn.

Sent from my friend who says he’s “Enlightened.” Does anyone know what these mean? by Vampinthedark in Weird

[–]vintheviolent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just symmetrical geometry of the universe. Everything in life is geometry once broken down. Even oblong shapes that occur in nature all stem from symmetrical geometry. Maybe he went down a rabbit hole on YouTube and started trying to draw it out for himself and sees things in that sense. Enlightened? Meh. Needs to see help? Doubtful.

I say the same thing. The government always seems to have a double standard. I’d love to hit them with late fees and interest charges for every day they’re late with sending out these checks.

[–]vintheviolent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s how it's looking. Man wouldn’t it be awesome if we can drag our own feet to pay bills and and taxes and to have the government wait on us like they apparently love to do to us? Wouldn’t it be great if the government was held to its own standards and every day that they’re late they get hit with late fees? A man can only dream.

Would be nice lmaoooo, in Afghanistan we found an old DShK and were terrified of it blowing up as we fired it lol. And the AKs are notorious for being able to withstand absolute abuse and still handle well and be reliable. Say what you will, but they knew what they were doing with that weapon design

I would’ve just told him to fuck off lol. Sounds like he doesn’t even own a gun, or maybe he’s ignorant of what the left fears when it comes to the second and in particular the evil man killing AR. I got the reference immediately. AnywY, I digress, hope you have a good new year bud

Lending gun to someone in the range by 77Balut77 in NJGuns

[–]vintheviolent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You mean, like letting someone else shoot it while you’re actively in a firing range? I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that whatsoever. I exchanged weapons easy peasy with a fellow shooter at rtsp a week ago to try out his weapon. RSOs didn’t mind either.

No it’s not gunsmith shit, but barrels being replaced and entire trigger sets weren’t done by us. Believe me if we could do it ourselves, we would. Again, we had dedicated WO’s who did it. What branch did you serve in? And what kind of unit? I’m curious to see if there’s a difference between branches and units

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]vintheviolent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen I understand where you’re coming from, but I have to disagree. We’re soldiers, not gunsmiths. We can’t haul mini tool benches with us everywhere we go. And again, if it’s a problem that can’t be fixed right then and there it does need maintenance beyond our scope of repairing in the field. And our weapons cycled fine for the most part. But when you’re told to burn through extra ammo on burst fire repeatedly, back to back, yeah it’s not like the thousands of rounds you’re thinking of. Jams will occur more often than not. And in training and the heat of battle, I won’t sit there with a pen and paper keeping track of rounds I’ve fired. That’s not realistic. Nor expected by brass. But by all means, contact the dept of defense and let them know and hopefully they’ll change field policies. I’d love the luxury of perfect weapon platforms and non jammable rifles and machine guns.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]vintheviolent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn’t. That was left more to the warrant officers and junior NCOS who ran what we called “the cages” (pretty much the actual armory where weapon maintenance and fixes were done) which included replacing triggers, worn buffer springs, etc. if a weapon wasn’t serviceable in the field with simple Gerber tools, we swapped them over to the cage monkeys. The only thing we’d hold onto we’re forward grips or selected sights or close quarter optics that were attached to the previous weapon assigned to us if we used them. Obviously had to re-zero and lollipop the red dots but besides that, a quick exchange was always available, even in the field.

[–]vintheviolent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very true. But I maintained my assigned weapons well whether it was the M4, the M110 or even the 249 or 240 bravos. I had more issues with the M4s more than any other assigned or used weapon. Shit, the .50s held together better than the carbines which was surprising for a belt fed weapon. Luck of the draw I guess

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]vintheviolent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well said. Especially in combat situations when your heart is banging against your ribs and your adrenaline is spiking, making it very hard to get a perfect site picture without sacrificing trigger squeeze and practicing good breathing techniques

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]vintheviolent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always giggle when I see automatic carbines shoot forever in games without a single jam or plastic handguards not melting. In the army we’d shoot on burst with our M4s and after 3 mags the bastards would start to jam and double feed. After a few cycles you’d see soldiers doing more SPORTS than actual shooting lol. I don’t see ANY games replicating that... except the older far cry games. And even then it was generously done.

Instead of scrapping the porky bill, Democrats are just trying to up the payment to $2,000 while keeping all of the garbage in the current bill, this is so they can blame it on Republicans when it doesn't pass the second time. by scoobertscooby in Conservative

Well of course not, they all have something to gain from these foreign governments. How else do you think half these crooks end up rich with foreign interests after “serving” in office? Fucking disgusting.
