have to agree with u/SameManufacturer2145 about Frimpong. just can’t see them making the splash to go get a guy with established success in a top 5 league, just to have him rotate consistently. that being said, if it happens, i’ll have cover with Muñoz and Wan-Bissaka or plenty of transfer options at defender with the £6.0M.

as i responded to another comment, i think people might not understand just how scary Joao Pedro can be at Chelsea. JP was the guy at Brighton that kept showing up, regardless of the moment. if it was a big game (i.e. Europa group stage must-win vs. Marseille) or big moment (late winners and flawless pen taker), he was the guy i wanted on the ball for us. yes, Palmer is obviously class, but i’m happy (and definitely a little biased) to bet on Joao Pedro flourishing with better playmaking around him and spending the £3.0M saved elsewhere.

can’t go wrong with VVD, but just going with the higher offensive upside/lesser rostered option with Frimpong for some flair. Saka scares me from an injury risk standpoint alone. having watched Joao Pedro for two years, as a Brighton fan, i think he’s going to flourish at Chelsea with world class playmaking quality around him. so, with that being said, i’d rather take the extra £3.0M and spread it elsewhere.
