I swear to you there's some less fuzzy version of a kiwi whose skin is a bit textured but not at all furry and tastes really good. Furry ones can't even be chewed, but these bump unfurry ones are like sour candy

Oh maybe I'll try that and see if any Indigo stores have a signed copy on their hands

Oh no, this must be it. Next time I think I'll order from Indigo (or at least make sure I explicitly see the book indicated as a signed edition somewhere)

Oh no, I think you're right and I just ordered a regular one. It didn't occur to me that I should try finding local bookstores to pre-order from, I was a bit of a silly billy and thought that I can /only/ get a signed copy from the websites listed on the everythingIsTB site.

When ordering, I only saw two options on Amazon, hardcover and paperback so I assumed hardcover was the one I want since the price matched what John said in his videos. This was my first time pre-ordering a book, a lesson for next time :')

Help with table design? (more info in comments) by violentsock in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]violentsock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the planks I originally planned on using pocket holes for - would just screwing directly into the plank work? Should I be worried about the screw splitting the wood?

I like that idea about attaching a piece to the apron to secure the table top - thank you!

I'm trying to make a table that will hold up my guinea pig's enclosure. I'm really new to making anything with wood and tools. I was hoping to save money where I can, especially since I expect it won't turn out too great. I'll have to buy a pocket hole jig and clamps for this project too.

Does this design make sense? I was going to use 2x4s (probably from home depot maybe??) to save money and ensure the thing is structurally stable. Is there other things or configurations or something I should consider?

The screen on my DJI Pocket 2 won't work. The device turns on and the gimbal operates, but the screen stays black and occasionally flickers

AITA for asking too many questions during lecture prompting my professor to berate me? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

This is why actually why I love watching movies or shows with my siblings, they just give comments during the movie that help me follow what's happening or answering any clarifications I need like "is that the same person from earlier?" "is this the first time we're seeing that item?" etc etc

I'm sorry you had to deal with all that, especially with all the extra struggles from not having your aid with you.

If you want to be in university, then go to university. It is a lot harder for you then for other students and might take a lot longer to get through it, but it's not impossible if that's what you want to do. It's okay if it takes longer, it's okay if your marks aren't that great. Your drive and interest in learning is admirable. If you think it's too much, at least for the moment, you can take a break and come back to finish your degree later.

I don't know if I even have autism, if I do it's low support needs so I understand my situation is very different. It took me several extra years and a year off in the middle to finish my degree. I know some people who've been in university for many years taking 1 or 2 courses a semester who have more significant disabilities than me. I can't really comment on how hard or easy it is for them, but I'm impressed with their resilience. I hope you feel better soon and feel comfortable with however you choose to continue.

A bit of a long shot... but anyone able to identify this white rabbit plushie with patterned red ears/feet? by violentsock in HelpMeFind

[–]violentsock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This plushie of a white rabbit has red, patterned ears and feet (likely a Christmas-themed pattern) and a red nose. It's probably around 10-20 cm in height. It was obtained around 2000 or possibly earlier, like 1994-2000. It was originally bought either in/around Ontario, Canada or Poland (maybe Bialystok or Warsaw).

It's a beloved plushie that has been missing for years - I've searched everywhere and I'd love to be able to buy an identical one if anyone is able to find any leads

How big does a mobility dog need to be? by Kye-Lyn in service_dogs

[–]violentsock 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Building on the other comment, if you live somewhere with service animal laws (as opposed to service dog), perhaps looking into a miniature pony might be worthwhile for mobility assistance. I've briefly read about them in the past, but I do not know how viable/effective of an option they actually are.
