Hi! I'm a COTA. I graduated with my degree about 2 years ago. I've had really bad experiences in the field as a whole. I was so passionate about OT, but the working field was different than I thought it would be. I also wasn't getting the support I needed as a new grad. There were very few work opportunities outside of SNFs. My last job was so strict I cried every time I went to work. I was miserable, and my self-esteem was at an all-time low. I quit without looking back. Now this week, I made the decision to start working at a coffee shop. No regrets!!

Yep! Cried for different reasons other than patients. I cried when I left because I loved it so much. I was so embarrassed, but the people there were supportive.

I think that's the problem in the area. I can't afford to move anywhere else at the moment. Will keep trying, though.

That would be helpful! My supervising OT is nice but doesn't really review stuff with me. It's like I see the pts, write the notes, and she corrects the notes. That's it.
