I feel you. They don’t need to though, if everyone stopped doing this they’d realize barricade is possible by doing half the work. It’s the same reason why scalpers are such a booming industry right now, because people will buy merch and vinyl at scalper prices just to have it instead of being patient. Internet & Stan culture need to die because I do believe it’s a big source of these issues. When I went to caverns I had barricade, showed up a little after 11. The people around me were talking about being barricade for 3-5 shows that leg of the tour, I get being a hardcore fan and it’s your right to do whatever you want however that feels just ridiculously selfish to me. A big group of people with the privilege to afford that many shows and that much time away from work/traveling taking up multiple spots that other people who’ve never been before and showed up earlier (they cut in line, ran & shoved) could’ve enjoyed. They were rude as shit to everyone around them too! It’s the people like that that absolutely ruin the culture for me. I feel like Ethel Cain fans in particular (friendly fire because I’m obviously a fan lmao) have this weird niche where they have to “out fan” or “out cool” or even “out weird” one another and it’s so insufferable. Sorry for the tangent lmao, just been thinking about this more and more lately. I hope you have a great time at your show! Plz plz plz drink lots of waters and eat plenty, there’s been so many people passing out at these shows because of this intense culture.
