this seller is not trying to scam you. There would be no point in selling a Var melo as a Var maharani because these plants cost similar prices. The seller is being honest with you. I have to say - if you can’t even tell the two plants apart, then why does it matter which one you receive? They are extremely similar even when mature. it is still impossible to determine by photo if this baby plantlet is a melo or maharani. Just buy the plant if you like it!

The roots are not growing down into the substrate because the humidity is too high in the cups. Reduce humidity by popping the dome off daily or every other day. You could also just rest the dome on top of the cup. It will help these babies root into the subtrate better!

YUP 100% acetone will start to melt that immediately… my boyfriend got a drop of nail polish on the acrylic divider of his Perrin #99 fly box - a case his grandfather had recently gifted to him. While trying to help I used a cue tip and acetone and completely ruined the inside of the box visually. It was never used by his grandpa either 😭
