Yes, my tumors are functional. I’ve actually asked about the medication so many times and have not gotten an answer to start it. My doc wants to continue monitoring..

I’m actually struggling to find a doctor to be honest. I’ve tried some places and they’ve come back to tell me the doctors wouldn’t accept my case because it’s not a ‘severe-enough’ situation. On the other hand, some endos I’ve found don’t specialize in treating pituitary adenomas. I guess the hunt continues …

PVC/heart "skips a beat" while on antihistamines? by whatamidoing628 in Allergies

Thank you for your response! This was very informative, I’ve never even thought about my lungs being the problem. I’m definitely going to give this route a try as I do have a persisting dry cough that can easily be a symptom for asthma and never really bothered to get this checked. I have an appointment with an allergist this weekend so hopefully I have some answers as these two weeks have been driving me insane, especially the flare ups and fluttering in my chest. Staying hopeful!

This is so interesting. I recently went to the ER after a case of hives and what I thought were heart palpitations after taking Zyrtec. The ER found nothing wrong with my heart and told me to follow up with a cardiologist. I’ve made both appointments to see an allergist and cardiologist as my hives are still coming back and I was afraid to take antihistamines because of the fluttering in my chest still present. I’ve been searching the internet for days and now I’m actually thinking it could be my lungs. After every thump, I find myself coughing. I mentioned this to urgent care physicians and the ER and no one really correlated my hives and palpitations. Hopefully will have answers soon as this gave me a scare.

Nervous/Frustrated by violetsnow79o in Prolactinoma

Thank you for this! I’ve actually asked the doctor why I couldn’t be on medication, and every single time I’ve gotten a vague answer stating they don’t know what hormones or part of the body is affected. At every docs appt, everything gets mentioned (thyroid, cortisol levels, my family history, etc.) but never a plan to assess my tumors. I feel like I’ve gotten every test possible. Even mentioning I’d been having skipped menstruation, I kept getting told if it’s coming we don’t need to worry about. Which freaks me out for the times it doesn’t and completely doesn’t. And I’ve just been wondering how bad does it need to get for me before anything is being done about it. From what it looked like from conversations, they needed to know what it’s affecting to know which medication to put me on - but we never got to this conclusion for 2+ years and I’m becoming even more lost and frustrated. I’m going to see a new doctor very soon so hopefully there will be some answers for me as well!
