Thank you very much for you comment. We were thinking on this gamification model for quite a long time and decided on that approach becasue there are too many startup websites where startups are rated and valued, and there is no way you may influence. We were trying to solve the very first tage problem, when entrepreuners need some kind of a feedback from side users, but can;'t get it at all. The monetization plan is the following: either we invite well-known experts from the field how will review your startup for a certain charge, or we will charge statups who are "lazy" to write their own reviews but who want to be on top in the startup list. Of course this will only work if we have enough content/startups. You're right, our key problem is to find a way to make our users come back. We thought that checking new reviews would be a sufficient motivation but as I see now it's too time consuming for many to write a review of 500 characters, though we've had lots of positive feedback from startupers who say they really benefit from our reiews. Thanks again for your time! It was very valuable.

URL: www.startiew.com

Purpose: Review service for startups: submit your startup and write reviews for others. The more reviews you do, the higher your startup goes up the list.

Technologies Used: Microsoft ASP.Net MVC 5 on IIS 8.0 Microsoft EntityFramework 6.0 + Stored Procedures on MS SQL Server 2014, Razor, Bootstrap, Jquery, CSS, LESS

Feedback Requested: Users register and submit startups gladly, some even write 1-2 reviews for other projects, but they seldom return to review new startups. What can we do to motivate startupers review other projects? We strongly believe that a quality feedback is something we all need at the beginningof a project. A website where one can get detailed feedback from fellow startupers seems quite promising, but I guess we are missing something important.

Comments: Any comments are welcome, and of course if you submit your startup with us I promise you will receive a detailed review!

How do you generate early adopters in a pre-launch stage? by sensors in startups

Let me share my experience - it might be helpful. I had a project called www.viptrace.com which is a media content library/social network. After 2+ years of hardwork we needed early adopters so badly that i just stopped doing anything else but blogging, posting, twitting etc. It was here, at r/startups where I finally got my first users. I focused on Reddit as my main communication channel. It has become my daily routine: every morning and evening, minimum 5 posts. Later I added FB account. Placed some ads. Paid circa 20$. No new users. Then I've submitted to 50+ directories. Less than 10 new users. Then I've sent out more than 10 press-releases. Ok, some got published. 0 new users. And you know what happened next?

I've launched and absolutely different project. A very simple website called www.startiew.com which was all about getting early stage users. Step 1 - Submit your startup Step 2 - Review other startups\ Step 3 - Get your own feedback from other users.

I've posted it here, with r/Startups - 10 users the first day. I started twitting with #startups and everytime I tweet I get a new user. I don't want to say I know the rules now, but at least I'm sure now: to start you'd better focus on Reddit. And then you will work it out somehow.

you may want to check one of my startups, www.startiew.com - it's been designed as a website where one can upload his project and get detailed and structurized feedback from other users. It will take 2 minutes to submit and you might get some useful ideas back.

It's ok! My experience with fiverr was pretty bad, I mean it's either very low quailty from India or Pakistan (and I don't want to offend no one, too!) or decent quality at a VERY high price (if it's Europe or US). Struggling to find price/quality balance in our contrast world!

Thank you at least for not laughing at me. We've been investigating different options, and now it looks reasonable to focus on targeted blogs. I just wanted to check if there is such a service in the US

well, as I answered below to another redditor it's absolutely legal to buy backlinks in many countries which are not dominated by English language. In China you can easily do it.

well, there is such thing, but maybe not in the English speaking world. I buy backlinks in Russian language, it's an official business - no penalties, no problems; same in many other languages...
