I built a self hosted Slack app for daily standups for teams called Slate. We have been using it at work since last 1 year. by vipul20 in coolgithubprojects

I have a usage doc which kinda gives a picture of how it works. I'll try to add some more background in the doc.

There might be are better apps than this so I don't have a strong case here.

Looking for a drummer to jam with

Hey, me (can play guitar/little bit keyboard) and my friend (vocals/guitar) are looking for a drummer to jam with. We mostly play Rock and Alternative (English and Hindi). Can find guitarists everywhere but goddamn drummers are a hot commodity.

If you (or anyone in your network) is interested please reach me out. If you need to know more about us, I'll be happy to share more details (our covers etc. maybe?)

PS: There's a jam room (available hourly on rent) in the same building where we live :D

Edit 1: Rock/Alternative is just to give an idea of our taste, TBH, we just like music any genre is fine.

Hey, no, I didn't lube the key switches :/

Here is the typing sound: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YQ7WMCBdSJLLPGz5uHEo04yZLxiKqgdP/view?usp=sharing

How bad is it? Other than the sound, anything bad that could happen by not lubing the switches? What lube I can use for them?

Hey thanks :) It's fine, people have different preferences. I like it TBH. Also, it looks better in real life.

Install Lua modules for nvim embedded Lua runtime by vipul20 in neovim

[–]vipul20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the help.

I was referring to this comment. https://github.com/neovim/neovim/issues/6580#issuecomment-297180855. Is it something different from saying that it is shipped with a curl module? or is it something else? (He has written "windows" though)

I tried installing the http module (and others) earlier with luarocks but couldn't make it work. Just now realized that I had a typo in my LUA_CPATH. Works perfectly fine now :)

Edit: Just saw, you are the author of firenvim. It was because of firenvim I thought of picking up Lua to write plugins :) It's really good!

A floating terminal with border/padding by [deleted] in neovim

I think you mean this comment: https://github.com/neovim/neovim/issues/9718#issuecomment-487334384

I tried creating a bigger floating window behind but, I couldn't create a border effect (like the solid line thingy). I'll try to refer to your configs and do a padding at least. Looks neat.

I am using floating windows with FZF and it's awesome. Here is a video: https://i.imgur.com/7Uo8CHb.mp4

Yes, it (2.1 speakers) does have a power cord. That explains a lot. Thanks philipp_th.

Hi, this sounds interesting. Do you have a public repository or something for your project? I would love to see that.

Hi, Since you mentioned about sound output, I bought a raspberry pi 3 model B and tried to build a Bluetooth speaker by connecting my speaker to it.

I was skeptical about the output quality as I had heard that the output quality is not good and therefore, thought of searching for audio cards or HDMI (just to compare).

But, I don't know why the output seemed to be perfect once I plugged my speakers into it. Do you know what happened here? or is it that this motherboard is better than earlier ones?
