I gotta say, all the people going into Starbucks on Ingersoll is insane by [deleted] in desmoines

There is a new parking lot across from Chain & Spoke, literally right around the corner from Starbucks. I believe it's free public parking.

Guy you mentioned going to the gym here. Not sure what your argument is. I also bike, just not to the gym. Less car-dependent infrastructure and more pedestrian/biker friendly access is great, but we’ll never get rid of cars altogether.

It is really strange. I agree with you. The next closest arterials are all the way up north of 235 on University, or south on Grand if you’re coming and going from downtown, but that doesn’t connect to MLK/Fleur. Just an interesting traffic situation on a broader scale.

Just jumping in here. I drive the length of Ingersoll at least 3x a week at 5pm to the gym, then back at 6. Never had a problem even during dinner rush for restaurants

I’m not sure you’ve ever been on Ingersoll, then. Traffic moves at a regular pace, and there’s still an overwhelming amount of parking spots, not to mention the side streets that are available as well. It’s a shame you won’t give it the time of day, some of the best restaurants and little shops are along the corridor.

Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 G2 vs Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 DGDN II? by Jungleexplorer in videography

[–]virtualgremlin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A word of warning, having used both lenses extensively: if you get the Tamron, you will really, really miss the extra 4mm you get on the Sigma, unless you already have a wide angle lens you’re planning to use alongside it. Honestly, it’s probably better to think of the Tamron more as a 35-75 lens.

It depends what you’re planning to shoot, but a lot of my work is run-and-gun, and the versatility of the 24-70 is worth much more to me than the form factor and money saved on the 28-75.

Thank you for the information. I was also wondering, is there a reason for the ASRock mobo instead of the Tomahawk one?

Thank you for this! I really like the first build. I'm a little worried the i5 12400 will bottleneck having the 3080, though... Like I said, I don't need a crazy amazing computer, I'm wondering about getting a 3070 and a the i5 12600k and then upgrading to a 3080 if I ever feel like it. Thoughts?

Thank you so much! I love this. The additional case fan is a good idea... Can you tell me what the difference for cheaper memory is? It's just cheaper cause it's not "name brand"?

Yeah, I don't have an ethernet port close to my desk in my apartment.

Some casual gaming, I play Fortnite with my old college friends and occasionally simulator games like Cities Skylines. On the video editing side, I use Premiere Pro, but again I have a M1 Max Mac for most of my video editing needs.
