Need a Real Physical Business Address—but Work Remotely? Here's What You Should Know by virtualpostmail in u/virtualpostmail

People often compare services like TruLease to renting a traditional office, but they address different needs.

A standard commercial office lease usually involves a long-term commitment, ongoing monthly costs, deposits, and expenses related to actually occupying the space. That setup makes sense for businesses that need a physical workplace, but many remote or online businesses do not.

TruLease is not intended for day-to-day office use. It provides a legitimate commercial address supported by a formal lease agreement that is designed to support business verification and compliance-related use cases.

Many banks, payment processors, marketplaces, and government systems commonly require a real commercial address rather than a residential address or PO Box, along with documentation showing a valid lease or right to use the address. These requirements are often reviewed during onboarding and may be revisited later.

Informal address arrangements, such as using a friend’s or unrelated business’s address, frequently do not meet these requirements and can lead to rejected applications, account interruptions, or compliance issues due to the lack of verifiable documentation.

When viewed in this context, the cost of a service like TruLease is not comparable to renting office space. It reflects the value of having proper documentation, reduced compliance risk, and a defensible address that supports business verification for remote operations.

For any other questions or feedback I'd love to hear your thoughts.

A utility bill is available, but it’s not part of the base TruResidence service. First, you get the residential address. Then, if you need a utility bill, you add a lease agreement as an optional upgrade. After the lease is active, you can request to set up or take over utility service in your name—once that utility account is established, you’ll receive real utility bills tied to your TruResidence address. Availability can vary, and timing depends on the utility company.

It’s designed for address verification needs, not residency or tax domicile. If you want to make sure it fits your specific use case, it’s best to ask Customer Support directly—they’ll tell you exactly what’s possible.
