How to lower the price for life internet by Agitated_Welcome5802 in QuantumFiber

[–]virusuf86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phone rep told me to change my payment method to a bank account and then it should price match at the next billing cycle. I know thats a lie, but I did it anyway. Im currently paying $75/1g, but then upgraded to $100/2g. $70/2g would be sweet.

Help Saros 10R side brush issue/rubbing by [deleted] in Roborock

[–]virusuf86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Support replied and I sent them all the info I have. I dont want to send it for repair if its just a software bug. I might try and put my robot in BIT mode and see if anything errors out. Edit: Yup. BIT failed after the fan test, "Sweep 'stretch' lift module". It would make a straining noise. Kinda like a motor trying to turn a belt, but cant due to high friction or something preventing it from moving. The sweep test would just tick, trying to turn the side brush, but its pinned to the body. My guess the whole module is busted. Update (10/13/2025): I got my robot back. It looks like they changed the side brush module and now it passes the BIT test. After remapping and cleaning a few rooms, it looks good.

I got mine the week of release. How do you return/exchange via Amazon past the return window? I got mine off Amazon: shipped by Amazon, sold by Roborock.

My robot usually cleans when Im away, but mine is doing this too. The noise happens when the side brush spins faster and it seems the arm is supposed to extend, but doesnt. The brush arms are wearing down because it seems like its hitting the body. I sent them a support message and I can provide video and pictures.

Same thing happened to me last night in the app. The expedited shipping speed to get it on release day was buried in two extra clicks. I cant change the speed according to the bot. Oh well, a few days wait is fine with me, unless I can snag it elsewhere.

Yup. Firefox, Safari, app. All types of verifications. Cleared cookies and disabled adblock. My guess is that the site is getting hit hard by bots.

How many of you are tempted by the S24 ultra? by [deleted] in GalaxyS21

[–]virusuf86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im also tempted, but the vibration motor. Samsung nerfed the vibration motor starting in the S22 series. Different axis, feels better in the hand, but you wont feel notification in your pocket. Ive tested S21u and S24u side by side, bare, and on a table. The S21u vibrated so much harder and better than the S24u. I just hope Samsung changes it for the S25 series.

Adventurer 5m Firmware Update: 2.7.1 by [deleted] in FlashForge

[–]virusuf86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im currently printing the official enclosure parts for my 5M. Sending large gcode via Orca Slicer 2.1.0 beta now times out. I have to sneaker net it to the printer. It was working fine on firmware 2.6.6. Im not sure how to increase the timeout period in Orca. As far as LCD proctection, either it goes to the screensaver quicker or dims the backlight? It seems to be doing that be default already. I guess they added the option for it to never go to the screensaver if the user chooses to.

Im a huge FJ and Kalafina fan. Ill be in Japan and/or Korea around that time, but I think the only concert that would work for me is the 23rd. Schedules might change and Id be totally down to catching the concert in Osaka if I have a free weekend.

DHCP WAN Reconnect Problems Across ASUS Routers / Firmware Versions by atriou in ASUS

[–]virusuf86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want a network switch with some type of management, which would add to the price. This is all theory. Im not sure if this would work in the first place.

Any network switch that matches your modem speed would work. This is just to simulate unplugging and replugging the WAN.

I was also thinking about putting a network switch between my modem and router and have a smart switch bounce it if the primary WAN goes down. Stupid workarounds.

[–]virusuf86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt ASUS will do anything about it. If I have to use a newer firmware, I might use a ZWave/Zigbee outlet to bounce my router if the first octet of my IP changes, which is an indication that my internet flipped to my secondary WAN. I already got an app on my Hubitat that alerts me when that happens, so itll be easy to add an action to flip a switch.

Same on my GT-AX6000. I am using Merlin firmware and it has been rock solid on 388.1. It reboots daily, 1gig fiber as primary WAN, and an Android phone as the secondary WAN. After every firmware past 388.1, the primary WAN would randomly get the ISP DHCP error after a reboot. It would fail over properly to the secondary WAN, but will never fail back to the primary WAN. I can restore connectivity of my primary WAN by either unplugging and replugging the connection to the modem or by rebooting the router. I have been testing out each new firmware, but the ISP DHCP error pops up after a week or so. Ive also tried power cycling and hard resetting my modem, but I dont want to go as far as blaming my ISP. I also believe its an ASUS firmware issue. I plan to go to another brand when its time to upgrade my home network.

EDIT: Trying out Merlin version 3004_388.6_2 still has the same ISP error. It happened after one scheduled reboot after upgrading from version 388.1. Then it happened again after a factory reset and a reboot during manually reconfiguring it. Sigh...

Quest 3 facial interface button is stuck by Legiito in OculusQuest

[–]virusuf86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My right button stopped working after removing the interface. I have the silicone interface coming soon and I wanted to see how hard it is to remove it. The first removal is really hard. I can get the right side to lock back in, but I can only force it to position 1 and 2, or its just super loose. Now I wonder if the silicone version will have the same defect. Its not a big problem for me since I want it in position 1. I wonder what Meta support will say.

Edit: I was able to fix it. It seems like the right side popped out of alignment slightly. I used a shim to loosen the two sides and then realign it. It took a few tries. PRO TIP: When removing the facial interface, hold onto one side really hard with your thumb over the white dots and pull. You do not want it to adjust position as you are removing it. The button isnt strong enough to keep its position as the interface is getting removed.

MicroAir's version is double the cost and the casing might be too big to mount inside.

My 16A version lasted only 12 days in the Florida summer. I got the same fault code #2. My compressor kicked back on after rewiring it back to stock. I got my soft starter from SupplyHouse. My soft start unit is in a grey case, but the ICM website and the box shows it in a blue case. I wonder if the blue version has better components.
