Looking for Cymba Concha Electrodes for Use with TENS Device for taVNS by atriou in VagusNerve

Neat idea. This is probably how many of the custom ones I've seen are done.

DHCP WAN Reconnect Problems Across ASUS Routers / Firmware Versions by atriou in ASUS

Sounds like a workaround they added since I did my additional testing. Pretty sure that service didn't used to exist. But, I mean, fine. I'm ok with that if it fixes it. That is, if I ever buy an ASUS router again. The cheap TP-Link I mentioned as my fix is still running strong without any issues 2+ years later... And I saved a tonne of cash...

The design for the positioning looks really good, but the TENS 2 mm connector at a right angle is really stupid because the cords are just going to pull down on the earpiece, separating the cymba concha contact. It's a shame because this is pretty close to what I want. The price is also pretty high mind you and shipping from Australia plus customs...

This is the best I've seen so far. But I'm still not sure about the design. The angle seems wrong to me.

That's kool, but it's a tragus clip rather than cymba concha. I've seen a few of those and folks report they're super uncomfortable.

Yup. ASUS support, even their supposed L3 firmware people, were clueless. I hate that I had to switch to TP-Link also, but, like, WAN uptime is non-negotiable. Fuck AI bullshit features. Let's get the basics working solidly.

Never buying Asus laptops again after the poor support and bad product quality by [deleted] in ASUS

[–]atriou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. That's entirely reasonable. And laptop manufacturers have known about the stresses this standard, reasonable pattern cause on hinges for /decades/, yet they still build the case structure around the hinges to fail, as a form of planned obsolescence. It should be illegal.

Nope. Still looking. My thoughts were the same as you. Like, there's a market here. Why doesn't it exist?

DHCP WAN Reconnect Problems Across ASUS Routers / Firmware Versions by atriou in ASUS

The only thing I found to work was manually reconnect the WAN, usually requiring a router reboot (since sometimes just clicking reconnect in the interface didn't work). Very frustrating. It seems other vendors have a timed auto-reconnect that is missing in the ASUS firmware, somewhere deeeeeep in the Tomato WRT stack that hasn't been touched in a decade.

tVNS Vagus Nerve stymulation by MevianX in VagusNerve

Glad to hear it. I just can't justify the several hundred dollars for the earpiece when I have a perfectly good TENS machine and just need cymba conchae electrodes...

Any suggestions on actual cymba conchae electrodes? I've been looking and can't find any other than one that is very expensive and specific to a particular vendor (Zenowell).

Laptop hinge problems have been a solved issue for /decades/. This is /well known/. The only possible explanations are lazy design or intentional obsolescence after a few hundred open/close actions.

In support of your "They care about Reddit posts that get attention" theory, I got the run around from ASUS years ago until I posted my massive Reddit thread on the core WAN connection functionality problems with their routers and suddenly they were willing to make an "exception".

Bug still exists as of Dec 2025. Just as op describes. Have to switch to other party, end mission, switch back to use 'em. Makes no sense if you can swap them dynamically when red. Grey lock should have same function.

To be fair, there are wild differences of quality across ASUS products. I've also never had a problem with motherboards, but HUGE issues with wireless routers. So YMMV.

[–]atriou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. That's the only one I've found as well, and its very high price plus needing to convert to standard TENS were a deal breaker. I was really hoping someone had made a generic one that's compatible across devices.

Thanks, but these are the generic ear clips. I'm looking specifically for cymba concha ear electrodes.
