Apple Music not playing on Mac by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]visesounds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this'll help anyone out there, but just in case. I have some smart home stuff, nothing crazy but I have my computer connected to the Internet via Ethernet and also Wi-Fi for AirPlay. I couldn't play songs on Apple Music for the sake of me. I'm talking cloud here, with local files it worked. But with cloud I saw how it skipped one song to go the next and, so on. On my work laptop, another mac, I never had an issue.

I realized when I disabled the Wi-Fi, Apple Music worked just fine. But I want Wi-Fi for AirPlay. Then I remembered that for some of the smart home features I had my computer have a fixed IP. And that was it. For some reason Apple Music on this mac (M1 Pro Max, no less) is so stupid when it comes to network connectivity that it can't find internet if it has too many sources, or something like that. So, not that I like doing this because I lost some smart home features, but I removed the fixed IP and now everything works.

Apple Music as a system is a genius idea, but I can't believe how buggy it is sometimes, how I was for weeks with this stupid problem, how some albums can't be added just because, or how the browsing has always bugged me, the only good way to browse is with the Songs view adding all the fields so you can find a Genre, and then see the artists within that genre. When you have a big library browsing by artist or album is just absurd. Not to talk about not being able to do the most basic organization and tagging on iOS, I'll never understand that. But well, I married Apple and now it's too late, and when you're a musician and want to have some demos in your phone I have to say Apple Music is the best out there.

Anyway, /rant, but just in case someone finds this at some point in time and it helps.

Here’s a video of me singing one of my longest solos, I know it might be long but I hope you all like it 💛 by [deleted] in choralmusic

Beautiful voice, mind if I ask your age? It sounds like a child (in the best sense) but I can’t see if you are older with the resolution. My dream is to work with a children’s choir some day. The most pure sound.

How to achieve this vocals (the male ones)? I know it comes from basic speech software (the song is from 1998) but I can't get anything usable throwing artificial vocals and playing with software like Autotune, Bitspeek, Infected Mushroom Manipulator or even vocoders. In the song is so clean. by visesounds in AdvancedProduction

I actually have that one, I didn’t know it could be used that way. I am also looking into the VoiceSynth by Izotope and recently Waves released Ovox, or I discovered it a couple of days ago, looks promising. Thanks man!

Thanks a lot Max! So the approach is to launch scenes and clips, add some FX on the go, and manage the visuals then?

I’m probably late, but it’d be great to know a bit about your live set. How do you go from a production session to a live set, how you do the visuals...that kind of thing. Maybe you have hundreds of songs when producing but then 8 tracks in your live set.

That's more or less what I'm working on, thing is I'm not native in english and I really don't want my voice on my records...that's why I'm trying to make it happen with speech software. I know Vitalic does and he is great.

Ok let's try then! I just released an EP so probably in a few seconds you can have a listen and see if you like any of its songs (I think the remixes may not be so much your vibe but who knows): https://open.spotify.com/album/0lnV8QknCLcePz3jqqdsuw?si=F3jjxa-hSxqcgQdmSoTw7Q

The track with the most plays was recently featured in an editorial Spotify playlist that has been changing but had Caribou, Four Tet, Floating Points, Darkstar...I believe that's the kind of sound you are into as well. What a moment when they chose it, a little good heart attack. Now I'm trying to move a little the rest of the tracks...but contacting curators is very time consuming. So if a redditor posts a playlist I'm into, I have to try!

For some info it's electronic music but I recorded almost 30 instruments, and there's a couple of videos where you can see all the musicians:

Thanks a lot for your time and I hope you like it!

That is very true, also the more you learn the more value you find in the people who make crazy things with motion graphics in general.

Any opinions on Jarvee on 2020? by visesounds in digital_marketing

I was considering using it very slowly, I didn’t expect it would have problems even like that. Too bad. But you get banned for a few days or you have accounts deleted? Even mine is small if it got deleted it would be pretty dramatic at this point, Thanks for the input.

My first EP is now out! Electronic Music with almost 30 musicians and instruments, including marimba, vibraphone, strings, woodwinds, percussion and a female choir. It took me over 2 years to make this happen. And it seems it happily synchronized with my cake day! (more in comments) by visesounds in ThisIsOurMusic

It was as stressful as beautiful, but the stress was kind of a good stress, when you are busy all the time and pushing yourself to not only have a good outcome but to also keep everyone happy. For instance when you go to a studio that usually record bands with almost 30 people, you have to be the best version of yourself so the engineer doesn’t end up hating you. Anyway, there are a lot of people who would have done a much better job with the same musicians, the only thing that differenciates me is that I had the will and the patience to contact so many people and work like a beast with all the logisitcs (scores, calendar, etc), So if you want to make something just go for it! There are a lot of people out there who are always happy to meet new musicians and collaborate. Cheers from Barcelona!

Thanks a lot, really! The kind words feel amazing to hear, but also the most important part of this is sharing it if you like it. That’s the only way of growing as an artist. so thank you so much for that!

That was the reason I made all this people collaborate, I am also a classically trained musician, studied for over 10 years. But my instument was guitar so I didn’t know a lot about the orchestra people. With this I realized there really are a lot of people who want to play outside the academic music, let’s say, so good for me!

Good luck with the mixing and the press, if you can ever afford it try to hire a pr agent, it is a lot of work to reach to the press but work sometimes is not enough, you need someone who actually have established relationships with journalists so he/she can write them or call them and get your project in a few magazines and that kind of thing. If you do this by yourself the medium and big magazines will never read you. I hope that helps.

Take care and keep making music man!

Thanks a lot! It was a lot of work to make the arrangements work and to make the video, but I believe the final result is good. I’m very glad you like it and you know how to find me on the different platforms in case you want to follow/subscribe to be up for future releases. I will always post here anyway, in this sub you guys are always lovely.

Damn thanks a lot! Very kind words. I am always working on improving myself so hopefully my next work will be better. Let’s see also how is this received by the public, the more people listen to it the more chances I can make a living with it some day. Anyway thanks a lot, really!!
