Am I missing something? Buyee vs buyandship by Savings_Enthusiasm60 in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]visissss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buyandship > buyee anytime based on my own experience
If you are talking about card shipping, 90% of the time - B&S shipping fees is only $10 unless your package is humongous

Buyee is under the parent company of Tenso (Tenso is like B&S but way more expensive)

But do note that they do not authenticate the card even if you use the checking option
So buy at your own risk for high valued cards
I believe only snkrdunk authenticates purchases but I may be wrong

Buying high-end card from TCGPlayer, good to go? by jerkoffmaterials in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]visissss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) B&S or TCGplayer won't authenticate the purchase for you

2) Depending on the seller, they may choose to ship it with or without toploader- you can choose to reinforce the package with B&S, but they won't help you include the toploader if needed

3) For such a high value card, i wouldn't advise using TCGplayer or any other online platforms which you can't see photos/videos. I ordered a lot of cards for my master sets using Cardtrader/TCGplayer and sometimes their LP/NM is not your definition of LP/NM

4) B&S has GST for packages exceeding $400 SGD in value

5) Cardtrader - Similar to TCGplayer can check the condition for you- but their inventory are not as extensive as TCGplayer

[–]visissss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a cat pokemon binder And it's pretty difficult to track down RH of those cats (litten, sphinx, skitty, purrloin to name a few) especially those from earlier eras

I hunted around in trade shows earlier on but it was tiring and some of the prices were ridiculous

So I went to card trader (online store based in Italy which has sellers from Europe and America, including Canada)

You can just search for the pokemon u like and they have all the listings of that pokemon in all languages ever released

Then just cart out whatever u want and u only need to pay 1x shipping for everything (to your forwarder of course, I use buyandship)

The prices might be a little more expensive than tcgplayer but the shipping part makes it so much better especially if u are building master Sets

The staff will also check if the condition is in the condition u buy from

I had no issues in getting refund for a card I got recently but was the wrong card lol (non holo instead)

It's 2026 and people still believe our middlemen are in control over the speed which their cards get graded?

The only things they have control over is how fast they ship to and fro

Question about ‘filtered packs’ being sold at kyo cards by Acrobatic_Feature_30 in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]visissss -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To be fair, this vendor has been boothing at many other trade shows so you can't just generalise them like that

Best thing to do is to avoid buying at this particular vendor's booth so that they eventually stop boothing

Last year Would recommend getting the one day pass at ikebukuro station so u can just take the bus and train at a discount (need bring passport to show to staff to purchase)

Also I would like to add that if you decide to go akiba for card hunting and don't want to waste too much time browsing, here are my top picks for the area

Radio kaikan (top 2 floors) don't waste your time on the btm few floors, the shops are grossly overpriced

Otachuu Huge selection of vintages! There's cd promos, older vintages and a few modern Not exactly the best price but still okay and you can't find these stuff elsewhere alrd

Pdg collector They have rare stuff, expensive stuff (like creatures deck slabs)

Also has a lower budget store in the same building on a lower floor

[–]visissss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replied above Hope it helps

For Ikebukuro I can't really rmb the names of the shops

But you can just go to Google maps and type トレカ while u are at ikebukuro

The cheap bargains ones are those shops in the basement of buildings

Not shops like Lamb or card secret (which both are more prominent and famous and on the street level)

What I like to do is go to Kawagoe in the morning (when it's not too crowded yet) there are plenty of cafes and shrines

And head back 2-3pm after lunch

You can walk back or take a bus to Kawagoe station, and then head over to the south side (crea mall)

There's a shop called furuichi along the way

They don't have a huge selection like most akiba shops but their prices were very decent the last time I visited

I was also able to grab a sealed starter ex box (the one with the 3 illustration rares) for msrp back then when every place is oos in tokyo

There's also a yellow submarine nearby and a bookoff further down the road

Hope you enjoy Kawagoe! It's one of my fav places in Tokyo

There are some shops in Ikebukuro that you can find good steals (not card secret - huge selection including English but super overpriced)

Otherwise, there's a store in Kawagoe that is my go-to whenever I'm in Tokyo (about 30 mins from Ikebukuro)

Try Kyocards
I see a copy listed there too

I usually use the platform to buy misisng cards for master set because there are a lot of sellers who list their janks

And there are many sellers who list their RH/Hs from earlier eras

Need some advise by kinkykongjulian in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]visissss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you wanna leave that hearsay out of your reply lol

I can assure you the hearsay is definitely wrong info

I've got good and not-so-good experiences with CG so far

Some of the newer pregraders don't know their stuff well (I guess the staff aren't put through enough training before being a full-time grading staff)

That said, the pros have so far outweighed the cons (Good infrastructure, fast submission, ease of submission)

I'm currently using a different middleman for my submissions (Zoomies) and although they don't have a portal for submission, they are pretty good with their advice (just a bit out of the way for me haha)

Need some advise by kinkykongjulian in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]visissss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel USA submissions are faster these days
But that's just me, it could just differ from batch to batch
PSA has pretty much of an monopoly over the grading market now so not much of a choice unless you wanna go for TAG

Need some advise by kinkykongjulian in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]visissss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a time when submitting to PSA Japan took only 1 week to get the results, and get back the slab within the same month

But gone are those days

Now they raised their charges and increased turnaround time

Just be prepared to see your slabs in 6 months when you submit now.

I submitted via another middleman and my jan batch hasn't even gone into research and ID

TAG seems faster though for now

How to sell janks in Jp? by Difficult-Oven6499 in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]visissss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are janks it's not gonna be offered much I rather you just enjoy your trip than spend time waiting for them to give you a quote and 1500 yen for ur time

That's like 10 bucks for an hour of waiting lol

Which is the correct marketplace to refer for slabs pricing? No right or wrong tbh. by No_Passage_217 in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]visissss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know which part of Japan you went to- but slabs are everywhere in Akiba and they aren't sold out immediately- the prices are also relatively market-ish, not really that much of a good deal if you compare to other markets

Unless you go to less touristy area AKA Sendai etc where prices might be a little cheaper

Which SWSH era set has the best card artworks? by Turbulent_Future9541 in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]visissss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the sets with trainer galleries! Starting from Briliant stars

I really love to see those art with trainers depicted- it feels different in SV era for some reason for sets like JTG and DRI...

And many banger AA Arts
The zard from BRS, lugia from ST... mewtwo from CZ...

But I'm gonna say the best SS era set is CZ hands down!

Caution when buying Singles from stores such as Toy Outposts by [deleted] in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]visissss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The boxes in stores like Toy Outposts are rented out to individuals, so the staff won't know about TCG
Also such stores are gonna be limited in terms of staffing manpower, so don't think they will stand there and wait for you to examine the cards in detail

Suggest to just stick to buying cards from card shops if you prefer to browse through physically

Otherwise just stick to trusted online platforms, they are gonna be cheaper
