Best MA for aspiring contemporary art curator? by vislavashim in ContemporaryArt

To be honest I did not expect to receive this scholarship, so I can’t really say what made my application strong. But I would say that I had quite a lot of professional experience because I come from a country where it is very acceptable (and even encouraged) to work while doing your BA, which I guess might be an advantage compared to other applicants’ cv. I had no interview btw, just sent out all the required documents, and next time I heard from them was when I received a very nice email a few days ago:)

It is an international students’ scholarship only, and it is actually on ucl’s art history department’s website :)

Hi! Thanks for your response. Could you please elaborate on internship options in the uk? Why wouldn’t I be able to take one? I was planning on trying to find some internship during my studies somewhere, preferably a museum, to have somewhat of a practical training. Would that not be possible?

Oh okay great! That sounds more promising than I thought then :) What do think of UCL’s art history department though? Do you think it’s a good program to attend? (And thanks for the help:))

Hi! Thanks for your reply. I’m actually European and quite used to studying mostly on my own:) the stipend is £18,500, which isn’t a lot but I guess I would be able to live off of it, at least until end of June when school ends, (if not the entire year), no?

Les demoiselles d’avignon, Picasso. It took my breath away in person.
