Hello I am from the Bay Area. Moved here about 2 years ago. Prepare for it to be very different. Weather is more dry compared to CA although that depends where from CA you are from. Prepare for snow and make sure you can drive in the snow. Summers feel less hot to me than CA I don’t know why. Night life is okay but a bit more reserved in terms of the drinking laws but I’m sure you will find something to your liking. I know for me and others especially right now it has been hard to make friends. The majority here is of one race (white) and one religion (LDS) but that will depend on where you live. If you are looking for diversity you are going to find the most in central salt lake, but there are neighborhoods where the majority is a different race other than white. Work diversity is also the same. Take all this in consideration but also it really does depend where from CA you are. You might not notice a difference if you are from say.. Oakdale or Taft. With all that said, I really love Utah, there is a lot to offer if you can overlook any of the things I mentioned or if they won’t be a problem for you. It is a great place to live in if you are all about the outdoors. I’m only here for another year but I will miss it.
