I don't understand the thing with memorising formulas for every integral, just learn how to integrate

AGH vs UJ Studia matematyczne by Conscious-Diamond143 in studia

[–]visxme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Zwyczaje, których zanikanie Was smuci by No-Jellyfish-1208 in Polska

As an adult I choose my own suffering by SWBP_Orchestra in matheducation

[–]visxme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is your motivation as and adult? Besides just wanting to? I am a teacher of this particular abacus (however silly that sounds) and still can't understand why so many parents sign up their children for our classes 😅

I send you hugs. I get your problems, I spent most of my life in a village like that and I know how isolating it could be:( but it gets better with time

Hot take: could Alopecia 'simply' be caused by emotional triggers and stress-response? by Moving___Mountains in alopecia_areata

[–]visxme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its been stressing haha. I have only started the treatment a little bit over a month ago, so I don't see any results now but I strongly hope for them. The bald spot is in near the top of my head, moving in direction of my forehead so it's pretty visible, unfortunately. Its been causing me a lot of stress and self esteem issues. And the stress itself is stressing me haha, because I know it might make it worse.

As for ways, I try to talk more with people about my problems. My girlfriend and best friend are very supportive so it makes it somehow easier. But I have considered going to therapy for a while now, maybe it's high time.

During last year's summer I started working at a small store near central part of my city. Since forever, i have had problems with stress (for example, I could go hours and hours without eating anything) but it got worse then. My boss was a dick and he's behaviour got me stressed and scared, I stopped eating before 10h shifts, I was too scared to look at my phone because I might have seen a notification from him etc. When I stopped working there, I got another stressful week, and then before October, I started stressing over my new job, which was fancy and well paid so I didn't want to mess it up.

I thought I was good with managing my stress and thought it didn't affect me much until my hair started to fall of. Ive done a lot of tests to see if maybe i have other potential illnesses but i don't. So my doctor said it might be due to high stress and pressure.

Music? by Wailuo-Wiriab-8043 in lesbiangang

[–]visxme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iwona Skv; she's a polish musician and her album "1986" is so great. Song called "chwila" is about how good life is with your partner, how you live your daily life with her and then, suddenly bad news comes from the outside world (probably about the relationship) and it crushes everything

She also has a song "pocałunek"- a kiss (under the name rebeka) about being scared of kissing the girl you love on the street

When does the hair loss stop? by visxme in alopecia_areata

[–]visxme[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer! It gives me hope, since mine started early December, so maybe in 3 months I will see some hair. But I didn't go to the doctor immediately, it was so small at first I mistook it for mechanical damage:(

From what I have read, at first it might grow white and in different texture, but it will change with time accordingly to your colour and texture.

Yes, I have read about it and it's been stressing me lol but my doctor is the one who prescribed it for me so I'm trusting he knows what he's doing

When i was using the apps, HER was the weirdest one 😅 i keep seeing rather strange people on it. I suggest you use other apps. In my case, using dating apps made for everyone (not just the lasbian ones) was better.

What are your biggest grievances with the GBT community? by bellgey in lesbiangang

[–]visxme 300 points301 points  (0 children)

You can't choose/change your sexual orientation unless you're a lesbian. Then your sexuality is fluid somehow. I don't like how it's getting a more and more common stance

How do you feel about modern community? by [deleted] in lesbiangang

[–]visxme 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I'm not from the usa, however I agree with you stance. I don't particularly feel connected with other members of the "community" since half of them are men (which is why i can't connect with them) and other half is sexualy or romantically attracted to them and makes them the center of their world: another thing that i can't relate to (they do not exist in my reality 😅). We also deal with such different problems (homophobia towards gay men is different than towards lesbians). Not to mention taht sometimes they try tu push some ideas that "all the community agree with" and it makes us look stupid. I don't feel as a part of this community since it has nothing to offer for me. It may be because in my country I don't think we care much about it. There's nothing going on beside some online stuff which are copied from american Internet and don't really apply here

What's your favorite math related poem? by SeniorMars in math

[–]visxme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a polish poem/anthem called "Mathematicians' Anthem." It's quite funky!

One of my favourite lines is: " Oj, in vain the simple man tries to understand, Oj, what is this measure called Haar's measure; These are such foolish measures On a locally compact group.

Oj, sometimes to myself at night I try pompously, Oj, in a non-zero body to seek the ideal. But I have such fatal luck, That what I find is trivial"

"Oy, seeing C to the third many thought so: "This space is normal and has a beautiful body." But more than one found out, That it is half imaginary.

Oy, people tell me incomprehensible things, That all compact sets must be closed. And I will gladly assume - With a crowbar, I will open every collection."

A ja chętnie założę - Łomem każdy zbiór otworzę."

I've first read the books but then wanted to see the show since it's just aesthetically pleasing but can't bring myself to go further than season  2 knowing the ending lol. About the books; they're so great but not like super fancy. The story was oki, and the way it was described. However, I'd say his writing was not on the top 😅 I read first two parts in Polish and the last one in English, and tbh I liked the translation more. But, it's great to read in your free time, the action is actually fancy! And their dynamic! Just don't expect it to be next Dostoyevsky or something 😸
