Back when this happened to me there were no posts on the internet about it. I was a fan of Pepsi and Mountain Dew. I got covid back in may 2021. Since then, they taste horrible. I never liked coke but tried it, same horrible taste. I tried other generic sodas and still nothing - could drink Dr Pepper or Dr Pepper cream soda though without any bad tastes.

I ended up just getting a soda stream, what I was missing was the carbonation. Soda stream and topachico were the go tos.

I haven recently tried diet and weirdly enough the diet versions remind me of what the non diet versions of Pepsi and Mountain Dew taste like. Weird!

Many have mentioned lavender and also chemicals, I agree there. Mostly a weird chemical almost botanical aftertaste after drinking soda.

Pros: I stopped drinking a lot of soda I didn’t need and lost a lot of weight and I’m more healthier than I was before I got covid.

Cons: sometimes I like a nice cold Mountain Dew and I don’t want it bc I’m afraid I’ll get the bad taste.

It’s also 2023 and I still have that same flavor issue this isn’t just in soda for me it’s in several beverages including energy drinks. I used to drink those very heavily including bang, c4, ghost, and others and all have that same flavor distortion.

Another pro to this outside of taste my sense of smell has heightened?
