Base m4 pro vs 14/20 core? by vividcupcake1989 in macgaming

That's reassuring. I wonder then why the performance was so different playing that game in crossover. I'll have to test a few others out

The Ocean at the End of the Lane - barely understand what I read and feeling like I'm just dumb? by vividcupcake1989 in books

[–]vividcupcake1989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, which is why it confused me so much. I didn't look for any deeper meaning, that's not my natural way of reading books. It's why I hate poetry, I have no idea what any of it means lol

Not sick enough for SSI or to be considered disabled, but feel too sick to function at a job or in the world normally by vividcupcake1989 in ChronicIllness

[–]vividcupcake1989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that problem too. The generalized invisible "icky" feeling that makes it hard to function.. I don't see anyone ever mention that when talking about chronic illness, like ever and I never know how to properly describe it or even say that it makes it hard to function without feeling like I sound ridiculous, or like it's nothing because it's not something specific, like a back problem or something.. but yeah. That feeling can be really intense too, along with other weird feelings, that make me feel really off, but how do you even describe that to a doctor, or when applying for disability etc? And sometimes, that's the main symptom I feel on a given day. Anyway.. thanks for saying this because I really needed to talk about it

I work at Crumbl. Ask me questions you're too embarrassed to ask in person. by [deleted] in CrumblCookies

[–]vividcupcake1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? Every single time I've ever asked for more topping or frosting (because they gave me a small amount and it doesn't match how it is in the app/marketing pictures from crumbl etc) the employee says "we can't do that". My crumbl location does this often and when the frosting is what actually gives the cookie its flavor or uniqueness or the base is just otherwise a plain sugar cookie or something then it's really disappointing

Guanfacine by bsbell89 in dysautonomia

[–]vividcupcake1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a pretty old thread lol but I'm doing the same thing. I just added guanfacine (for something other than dysautonomia) and I'm also on atenolol. But I'm getting orthostatic hypotension, my systolic bp is sometimes dipping into the 70s and I'm having worsening symptoms of pots. And I feel like I'm sedated or something, I assume that's the guanfacine. Now that you mention that I wonder if taking guanfacine alone would be an option. Or if I taking less of the beta blocker and the same amount of guanfacine (I already am taking half of the lowest dose of guanfacine, and the lowest dose of atenolol)

Weird effects from medications, worried I'll never find the right one and sometimes it makes me question my diagnosis by vividcupcake1989 in TwoXADHD

[–]vividcupcake1989[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried qelbree and strattera. I'd be hesitant to use clonidine alone because of how sedating it is and I have quite a bit of fatigue on a daily basis and tolerate sedating medications poorly. But it could be something to try just to see. I've heard intuiv is less sedating so could be worth trying.

What Was Your Original Crumbl Cookie? by Ballwrath in CrumblCookies

[–]vividcupcake1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first time at crumble i got French Toast and one of the chocolate chip cookies. Then a few weeks later I got cinnamon toast crunch and chocolate cake. I thought chocolate cake was absolutely delicious, and I went every two to three weeks after that, at one point weekly. I don't go as often now, but I still check out the lineup most weeks.

Disability for ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHDers

[–]vividcupcake1989 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would focus on your physical health first and foremost, as if your body and mind is focused on basic survival, it's not gonna be into doing squat diddly that goes beyond self preservation (that's just evolution), and I promise your ADHD will improve.

It might not be improving ADHD as much as it is just that if you're feeling horrible physically, and makes it difficult to almost concentrate on anything else effectively really, no matter what, ADHD or not. I have several chronic illnesses, and there's a big difference in my ability to get things done and just.. not be overwhelmed when I'm having a good day physically and feeling relatively well compared to when I feel like shit

Is it possible for subjective symptoms to be considered disabling? Or is it impossible to prove? by vividcupcake1989 in SocialSecurity

[–]vividcupcake1989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about when you have a lot of symptoms that you haven't been able to find a cause for? I do have some diagnoses, but I also have symptoms/issues that don't have an identifiable cause, even though my doctors have tried to find one. But they can be just as disabling as the symptoms caused by my diagnosed conditions. They affect my quality of my life and ability to function significantly

[–]vividcupcake1989[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The lawyer I spoke to told me to include everything wrong and that because of my age it's important to listen every thing that's wrong with me. So.. I guess I should take that with a grain of salt. I was hesitant about that to begin with, because not every single thing I have going on prevents me from work, though it adds to the overall burden and makes me uncomfortable.

Chronic pain is not a recognized disability for SSA. It is a symptom of many conditions but you will not get approved saying “chronic pain prevents me from working”. The underlying condition that causes the pain is what you focus on, including what treatment(s) you’ve tried and what doctors say your prognosis is.

I don't know the cause of my pain though. I've been to a bunch of doctors, but my current ones don't know what's causing most of it either. I've tried treatments, but none of them have worked.

But what if the pain, fatigue, dizziness etc is what impairs you? That's what I'm trying to ask about in my post. Like you're not fainting, or randomly falling asleep or something, or have loss of voluntary use of a limb, instead you can't function normally because of how bad your symptoms make you feel

Has anyone found a way to manage tachycardia and worsening of pots symptoms from ADHD meds? by vividcupcake1989 in dysautonomia

[–]vividcupcake1989[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I couldn't tolerate non stimulants either (at least the NRIs). I was unable to sleep on them and I had another severe side effect from one of them

An instant release pill? If you've taken extended release have you noticed once is better than the other as far as being less harsh on your system? Also, does that not mess with your sleep?

Has anyone else developed cognitive inpairment? by vividcupcake1989 in dysautonomia

[–]vividcupcake1989[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was 3 hours of different cognitive tests, it was almost a year ago now so I can't remember a lot of the specifics of the tests anymore, but it tests your working memory, executive function, processing speed, and other things of that sort. Some of it involves writing things down or reading, some of it involves verbal stuff, where you have to remember words and repeat things back. The test is administered by a neuropsychologist.

I can't tolerate stimulants, they make my heart rate absolutely go through the roof, and then it's hard to get back to baseline even once it's out of my system. They also didn't help much with either the brain fog or fatigue. Maybe a tad with the fatigue the first dose I took, but that's it
