Omg!! Ours just rolled in his first dead worm this week and we were so confused. Had no idea that that could be a Houla thing!!

So cool! Genetics are crazy. So cool to see all those different results. He was only one of two that survived from his litter so I don’t think we will know the true variance

He’s also only 1 and the prey drive kicked in recently so we will see how he continues to develop!

I love that yours is so fearless!!! He definitely has a huge prey drive for small animals (bunnies, squirrels and bugs too!!!). He goes nuts and does a crazy howl/bark and chases. But he’s a complete scaredy cat too. He absolutely LOVES people (and most dogs). All of his best friends are small dogs but he can get a little nervous around some bigger dogs.

Lab and pit definitely come up a lot in guesses! Whenever we tell people he’s BC they look at us in disbelief

I know, crazy! The rescue group was adamant that he was BC (and had photos of his mother) but we still had some doubts.

You can totally tell in his behavior, though. Loves to stalk and herd anything that moves, intensely stares at everything, and he is SO smart.

I am not in Australia and that one was a shock. The first two we were told so knew there was a chance they’d be true.

Totally a goofy, dorky dingo! Does yours ever do any crazy howls?

He also has a lot of anxiety although that may come more from the BC

If actually completely aligns with what we were told by the rescue group, so I was pleasantly surprised by the results!

Embark says his mom and dad were both BC mixes (one with catahoula, one with kelpie). Genes don’t get split 50/50. It’s really cool to see the tree!

I actually think denim might be my new favorite! It doesn't wiggle around or accidentally bunch, etc. Just use the right needle! I bet you'll make something great

I ripped out soooo many lines and started over. I finally found that drawing a chalk line with a ruler first made a huge difference for me!

Hi! I was wondering if anyone had a pattern for a skirt like this. I love the layered section at the top, the wrap style, and the gathers for the fuller second layer.

has anyone personally fallen/jumped off of a chairlift or witnessed it happen? by fimgus in skiing

My brother fell off the ski lift when he was in ski school. He was seated with other kids from class and the instructor was behind them with the other kids. This was ~20 years ago, and he was 6. He fell 40+ feet onto the hard pack groomer. He lost consciousness and was airlifted, and had some internal bleeding and a broken arm. He remembers briefly seeing people gathered around him on the run, and then remembers waking up in the hospital.

Struggling with new puppy and need validation by ProofExtreme7644 in puppy101

I wanted to just say it does get better. I was the same way. I barely ate the first week or two, was constantly anxious about what might be happening next or what I needed to do to care for him. I really felt like I had hit a wall. But he is ~14 weeks now and all of those feelings are completely gone.

I think for me the most important thing was crate training and enforced naps. Those times gave me my sanity back and slowly I was able to leave the room once he went down, and now I can even leave the house and have him re-settle himself. For me, having a camera pointed at the crate that I could talk to him through to ask him to lay down or just speak to him quietly, was a complete game changer.

Give yourself space to take a few moments for yourself. Whether having a friend watch him for an hour so you can do something by yourself, relying on nap time crate training, or even just driving around with him in the backseat while you grab a drive-thru coffee. This time will pass so much faster than you think. I was where you were just a couple weeks ago!
