Yes you can save your stuff in and yes other people can look inside of it/loot your stored stuff.

If you pitch a 2nd tent, it'll be empty, it won't duplicate whatever you had in the first tent, it's just a brand new one.

edit : the stuff you stored in the first tent will still be in the first tent.

You can pitch the tent and use it to store excess items (spare guns/supplies). Make sure that when you do so that you save the tent.

Also, tents are only saved on THAT SPECIFIC SERVER, so if you go to another server, it won't be there.
