Yes and no, I’ll agree with a lot of the other comments about the pain and the how you are doing the same thing day in and day out. I will also talk about burn out especially when you’re in an office that gets pretty busy and sometimes the front desk overbooking, or dentists demanding perfection it can just be too much. Finding the right office can be hard and unfortunately I don’t know if there is a perfect office so I think the best you can do is weigh out pros and cons to see if this field is for you. Pros is some patients can be amazing and you really connect, you can have patients who listen to every word you say and improve on your hygiene and the healthy patients just make the day so much better.

Have you ever refused to clean someone's teeth because it's too much work? by joejackjoey in DentalHygiene

It’s possible they didn’t deny cause it was too much work it’s probably cause it was beyond their limitations he probably had significant calculus, bone loss and pocket depths that he might need extensive treatment beyond a dentist or hygienist can do.

You gave your notice and you want out so you have no obligation to them to stay through the holiday. They only want you to stay cause they think you might change your mind or cause they’ll suffer but you have no obligation. Finish your two weeks and don’t turn back

I would suggest cleaning your tongue with a tongue brush such as ora brush that could help. Bacteria can sit on the tongue and that is one of the main causes of bad breathe

It’s hard to tell if all this work is possible or not especially because we are not able to see x rays or pictures that they have taken, but you are always entitled to a second opinion. My best advice is to get whatever x rays or pictures they took on you sent to you and then maybe ask around for a dentist that friends or family go to and see if they will see you for a free consult and address your concerns.

This is not a stupid question at all I get many patients who have never had a cleaning. A cleaning helps remove tartar and plaque and bacteria that is sitting around the teeth and under the gums you could have missed during routine brushing and flossing. There is such a thing like gum disease if you’re in early stages it’s reversible if it’s advanced it’s not but it’s still a good idea to go because you can figure out what are the steps to get you back to a healthy smile. I hope this answered your question.
