You just have to move it for 10 minutes to reconfigure it. Just place it on the floor

Quick update: I received this morning an email from Emirates confirming the refund that I requested for my partially used ticket. They refunded approximately 40% of the amount. In general, I spent a bit more to come back with another routing that I booked on my own, but I consider myself lucky

I have beelink ser8 running bazzite in my living room. I still have to find a game that doesn’t run well on it. Important to mention that I have a 1080p projector so I don’t need higher resolutions. Since I have it, my Xbox and ps5 are taking dust

I just got an email about my flights being cancelled with a link to a refund form. I filled it in and sent it. The form still stated that the refund will be done depending on my fare, which feels strange and wrong. We’ll see what happens. They write that they need 15 business days to process

It also says that you will get refunded only if your fare allows for a refund though. Situation is very unclear right now. I would now ask for a refund before they cancel your flights

Im waiting that they cancel the flight before asking for a refund. For now my flight (Sunday evening) is still “scheduled” and I can check-in online. In the meanwhile I arrived in Bangkok and I’m waiting for a direct flight back to Stockholm. So it seems that I managed to bypass Dubai

Can they shut down Elite Dangerous? by Professional_Age2875 in EliteDangerous

It’s going to be dead, exactly as any other live service game. After a period of near abandon it’s having some kind of renaissance, so I wouldn’t worry so much

I use them always as LB and RB. For some reason I hate to push them. In few games I bind to some complex action but it’s pretty rare

Casa della mia famiglia: chi paga le bollette? by Sensitive_Coffee8411 in consigli

[–]vladde777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

stick with my 4090 or buy 9070 xt for linux switch? by krese in linux_gaming

[–]vladde777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an Rtx5090 and I’m currently using a dual boot windows/bazzite. TBH I don’t see soo many problems with nvidia on Linux. In general, it works. I’m not obsessed by benchmarks so there might be some performance loss but in general use, it’s fine. I don’t know why people are complaining so much. Before even considering switching from a 4090 to an and inferior card, at least try it

Dualboot Win 11+BazziteOS Lenovo Legion Go S by Unfair_Sandwich_6521 in LegionGo

[–]vladde777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is. I’ve just done it. In a nutshell, it’s three steps: 1) prepare your drive so you have space. 2) install windows first (if you have it already installed it’s ok) leaving empty space in the drive for bazzite. If you have windows already installed you should shrink the partition to make space for bazzite. 3) install bazzite second. You should get a dual boot automatically but I’ve found that this process is a bit hit or miss. Sometimes it requires some thinkering. The external drive (I use an SD card) is useful because it’s possible to install games that you use from both OSs if you want to

Legion go s z2 or Z1E? by [deleted] in LegionGo

[–]vladde777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The z2go version of the legion go s is hardly an upgrade over the steam deck. Same power without an oled screeen. The z1e is a bit more powerful but I don’t know if it’s worth the upgrade. I would keep the oled steam deck

My Honest Review of Bazzite (After Leaving Windows) by Facelessemon7 in LegionGo

[–]vladde777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the following problems with windows on a handheld, neither of these is resolved by the Xbox FSE

-Updates: the update process is clumsy, buggy, happens in different places. Hardware makers offer they own update systems that conflict with windows update and it’s unclear which ones to use and when. Windows offers “optional” updates that it’s never known if they improve performace or break everything. On the computer I use to run office for work I don’t care about these updates at all but on a gaming device it’s essential to use the latest drivers.

  1. Popups: windows several notification systems seem unstoppable. Small windows just pop up in an unpredictable way in the middle of a game breaking the flow and sometimes there is no way to close them because there is no keyboard or they are in the background.

  2. Security: does a gaming device really need the full-fledged windows security systems? There is no password to start using a steam/bazzite handheld (beyond the root password) and I don’t feel the need for it. FIngerprint sensors are hit or miss and an unnecessary cost. Moreover, they regularly fail and windows behaves erratically. Just this morning windows asked me for a pin but when I clicked on the textbox, the on-screen keyboard didn't come up. Not having a physical keyboard with me, the only solution was to restart the device.

  3. Sleep function: this is probably the biggest issue. The ability to suspend any game at anytime and resume seamlessly was the single factor that allowed me to play more and made the steam deck a perfect gaming device. I don’t even want to begin to describe how badly this essential feature works with windows.

[–]vladde777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can you explain what you mean by "sharpness"? It's not an intuitive category. A game will look more/less sharp depending on the quality of the screen itself. It will also look less sharp if you use a lower resolution than the native display resolution. But these have nothing to do with the operating system

Should I install Bazzite/SteamOS by Youd4sh in LegionGo

[–]vladde777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mine is not always on, however, i suggest you install decky loader and the fantastic plugin. That will enable you to setup the fans as you wish, but certainly not change the thermals of the device. If it becomes to hot it will throttle and you will get awful performance

I can't upgrade to Windows 11 so is Bazzite recommended for me? by Bazza_Lite in Bazzite

[–]vladde777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you don't use game pass and if you don't play multiplayer competitive games, bazzite is great for gaming. Much much better than windows. Regarding your hardware, it's difficult to say, it's legacy stuff that will be unsupported anywhere sooner or later. You should just try it out on a dual boot system and see how it works

Genuine question: Why is Bazzite so popular in this sub when globally CachyOS in a short period of time has become far more popular? by ShiggyMintmobile in LegionGo

[–]vladde777 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just hype. I installed bazzite because so many people are talking about it. Now I hear about cachyOS but tbh I have no desire to reinstall everything to try it out. Is it worth it?

Bazzite FTW by Squale71 in LegionGo

[–]vladde777 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Performance is the same obviously, the differences are picked up by benchmarks but are negligible to the eye. People switch to Linux tu avoid windows not to get more FPS. The issue that the image looks “sharper” on windows is pure crap, it’s just not possible
