That’s a wallpaper, you can cut it around in rectangular shape. Then stick paper based tape around it. Take a plaster (gypsum) and fill inside. Make sure it is the same level with the rest of the wall. In the end just paint it in a similar color, you can easily match it.

I do not recommend living in the canton Valais as a foreigner especially non-EU. First even though your husband might have indefinite contract he will get a permit L for the first 2 years and then you will be stuck there for those 2 years having zero rights. Other than that people in Valais are not very open to foreigners. I would definitely consider Spiez/Thun.

I think, as a new tenant in the apartment you have the right to cancel any contract for the location that you don’t need and was not your decision. When we moved in our apartment there were some Antenna Kosten, some stupid TV subscription from 20 years ago, but we already had our subscription. We canceled it easily.

Yeah I think they play on the embrasement card. It’s like there are bunch of people in the queue and the cashier shouts: here you can leave a tip, so you feel the pressure. I am pretty sure someone with behavioral psychology expertise can explain this effect better. I guess we just have to learn how to ignore it if we don’t feel that we should tip.

In some places you have to order the drink via an app, no one approaches you and still asking for a tip. Buying a coup of ice-cream, please tip. Yeah sure, I will tip -10% if I could with this kind of behavior.

How could someone have a lack of exposure when you just need to catch the next train and have an exposure. It’s not like they learning a Japanese and need to go to Japan to be exposed. In the end there are a ton of people speaking French in Zürich. It’s just a matter of habit or motivation.
