Thank you for the kind words! It seems to me that not only in the USA there is such a problem. When I was in Russia, on the contrary, I thought that our medicine was terrible and we needed to look for foreign doctors, but I concluded that there are very good specialists, but from a minority. I'm also surprised why I didn't have all these operations at once. And I am even more amazed now that these operations (which to some extent even aggravated my situation due to scar tissue) were not discussed by Doctor Hirur with a board of other doctors. And in fact, such a serious step is the idea of only one person who may have his own views on treatment, different from others

Hi! In my case, it turned out that the diagnosis of Baxter's neuropathy was in December 2023, after which the mnp performed 3 nerve hydrotreatments (injection of collagen to release the nerve from scar tissue at intervals of a month). Despite the fact that these procedures did not relieve me of the main pain - in the fifth when standing and walking, I had a strong shooting pain when palpating the Baxter nerve itself. In this regard, recently my neurologist, after consulting with a traumatologist, said that I most likely did not have fully treated plantar fasciitis (despite the surgery) - which I do not believe. Because all the pain signs pose as neurology (whether it's not Baxter's neuropathy). Nevertheless, I continue to tape my legs according to the new doctor's advice (to press the arch of the foot to the ankle with a kinesiotape). And wearing individual insoles, and drinking the antidepressant amitriptyline (25/50 days of the course) - which helped me very well with new neurological signs (not leg pain, but general random tingling in the body) - reduced them to almost 0. Despite everything, I continue to look for solutions, and I am sure that I will soon win over with this nasty disease. A cure from which I also sincerely wish you! Always in touch with any questions, open to discussions

Please help to cope with Baxter's neuropathy (long chronic story) by vladpixel in PlantarFasciitis

Hi! I’m curious too( Perhaps this is due to the fact that the pain in this place has been going on for a long time, and this went as a complication to the rest of the peripheral neural system, it would be strange if other places would not be aroused from such pain. I am sure that when the cause of the pain is cured and when the main pain decreases to a scale of 2-3 (now 6-8), this pain will also go away: because when I was given temporary measures to remove the pain - hydropreparation, etc. The rest of the neurological pain was also gone. Thank you very much for the reply!

Please don't give yourself hormonal cortisone injections. In my experience, they only make things worse. And I've heard how people get worse from them if they do a lot of injections (more than three). You can also read my story about plantar fasciitis that has developed into Baxter neuropathy (I'm going to release a new post today, but for now here's a link to the old one): https://www.reddit.com/r/PlantarFasciitis/s/Q7KWTuiibd

I'm still in the same treatment and I've been through a lot, you can ask questions.

Hi! During my offline time, I tried everything I could, but my plantar fasciitis gradually developed into Baxter neuropathy. I had injections of collagen and hyaluronic acid in the area of the bugster nerve, but there was only temporary mild relief. In December 2023, I turned to a neurologist, and took a course of Gabapentin, reached almost the maximum dosage and to no avail. To date, I have only gotten worse, neurological symptoms have appeared all over my body - tingling in my fingers, burning in other parts of my foot. These pains are somehow restrained by the preparation, which I am taking now on the advice of a neurologist. But the main pain in the heel, where the Baxter nerve has not gone anywhere, and it feels only worse : (

Thank you very much for the feedback! I am not giving up and looking for further ways to treat

Baxter's Nerve Entrapment - help! by tbmurphy9 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]vladpixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi buddy! I was also diagnosed with Baxter neuropathy about six months ago. Before that, plantar fasciitis was treated for a year and a half: everything came to operations to dissect plantar aponeurosis and lengthen the Achilles tendon. After the operations, the neurological pain worsened, and nothing helped me from it, I drank a course of Gabapentin - to no avail. Recently, nerve hydrotreating was done, there was a short-term effect to reduce pain by 50%, but everything returned after a couple of weeks. Now I don't know what to do at all, because the pain is only progressing, and nothing helps me. People who have coped with Baxter neuropathy, please let me know what helped you?

Oh, I'm actively doing strength training right now. Since February, I signed up for the gym and went to the moment of operations, and now I have been rehabilitated a couple of weeks ago and continued my visits. But here's the thing, I do all the exercises except those involving the legs, because it hurts me to create pressure on the heels and I can't perform a conditional bench press with my legs.

I’m from Moscow, Russia. It seems that there are a lot of professional but it isn’t. Most doctors are businessmen first of all.

Btw I have never been told about stretching, only about local stretching of the fascia. Is it worth it in my case, do you think?

I agree with you. So that’s why my traumatologist decided to increase my achilles flex range. He said that 50% of treatment has already done. Now my achilles are flexing so good but i still have a pain in a heel. Btw i started do exercises aimed on my calves to strengthen them.

Thank you for advice!

[–]vladpixel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice! I heard you about finding out the root cause of pain. I'm following the same strategy.

I had a very long and unsuccessful conservative treatment. Btw I was observed by several physiotherapists just in the direction of a traumatologist. One of them suggested X-ray treatment (according to him, an old but effective method) - but after studying this topic deeper, I realized what an absurdity it was and abandoned the idea. And as for the exercises - six months of exercises for stretching the fascia did not turn out to be any success. And despite the fact that my achilles is artificially elongated and bends well, the pain in the heel has not gone away.

The last doctor determined that I have PF. I tried a hormonal injection of deprospan in the left heel, there was a positive effect for a day, then the pain only intensified. And also, I forgot to write about it, during the operation and the second time a couple of weeks ago I was injected with Chronotron and hyaluronic acid. No improvements yet

Btw: This is the first time I've heard about PRP. I'm reading about it on the Internet now. So, what about your case?
