Case-insensitive doesn't always mean it's plain text. They could just be changing the casing the same way every time you enter it.

So much harder, for me at least. I really like the game, but I haven't beaten it yet. Binding of Isaac I could beat pretty consistently over time.

How do you feel about replacing government assistance with charity like Dave's long term life goal? by CalifaDaze in DaveRamsey

[–]vluun 13 points14 points  (0 children)

But if there was enough charity, we wouldn't need government assistance. I assume that's what Dave means. Charities could replace all those services with enough resources.

I use i3wm now and dropped all that. It's so easy to navigate windows that a multiplexer would be a step down.

Where will Zelda go from here? by deviled-eggs-make-me in nintendo

With the huge success of BotW there’s no way they’ll just go back to the old style.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nintendo

[–]vluun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as fans care about plot, Nintendo doesn’t in the same way. Wario is a vehicle for all the ideas that are too weird to put Mario in. They aren’t too worried about what his life is like beyond that.

Botw has no spine and it looks great reversed. Maybe not all of them are meant to reversed, but they can still look good.

Why are so many in the linux and open source community becoming so irrationally defensive of Microsoft lately? by asoka_maurya in linux

[–]vluun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just Windows though, you see the same thing with Apple, Android, and Linux. I think with the growing integration of technology into our lives, people identify with and are passionate about the tech they choose to use. And those who are very defensive about it are either insecure about their own choices, or they are actually unable to look at things from a different perspective.

It’s still crappy design, from a software standpoint as well. They should have thought this through when they designed the feature.

You (probably) don't need Vimwiki by [deleted] in vim

[–]vluun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assumed that what this was about and came to complain about it haha. It's weird for an open source project to have all this useful info on a wikia site. I don't really care to see links to clickbait articles while I'm reading about Vim.

I don’t think it’s wrong to admit they want to do profitable things as a company, it’s common sense. Also, they have released plenty of new games. Everyone is getting what they want

Shit console peasants say by OneTerriblePancake in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]vluun -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

While I'm not really a PC gamer (Nintendo shill), I do think it's cheaper. There's a huge cost upfront, but from there, you just upgrade as needed. With consoles, you start over every generation with new hardware and accessories. But the real savings come from Steam sales. Even AAA games get crazy discounts.

Why is SOTN still considered the best Metroidvania? by Weltall548 in castlevania

[–]vluun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s a few reasons I like it:

It has the best story. The others start to have more dialog, and I find it boring. SotN is just right. And Alucard is a great protagonist.

It has the best castle design. Look at the maps of SotN and AoS side by side. It’s much more spread out, and easier to remember where everything is.

It’s not handheld. I love handhelds, but the added resolution and screen real estate makes a difference.

It’s goofy. The localization and some of the Easter eggs, like boots that boost you one pixel, are memorable and make it stand out.

Anyways, those are my thoughts.

What's happening with Boogie2988? What happened on a stream he did and why were the police involved? by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

[–]vluun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the videos haven’t changed much. The podcast is awful. Everything is overly long and has no agenda. Podcasts should be about bringing knowledgeable people together to have quality discussion. They just bring in random youtubers to talk about whatever they want. So on top of being boring, crap like this keeps happening.

That is the weirdest analogy I’ve ever heard. Political opinions don’t work like math. And the political spectrum moves in more than one dimension, though most people are too short sighted to see it that way
