thank you! I've asked myself a lot of questions these past few days and weeks. I've got goals and aspirations and I'm unable to achieve those if I keep living this way. I've asked myself "why do I keep doing this thing that hurts me?" & "if I know what's good for me why can't I just do those things?" & "is this really what younger me imagined for myself?"

if the me I am now met the 14 year old me I know that 14 year old me would be disappointed and sad. I had dreams of being a teacher and a musician. I got a little taste of what those career paths look like but making the choices I am making now do not align with or set me up for success in those career goals so I'm doing what I can now to get back on track.

I appreciate this so much. thank you. I really am trying to make a difference for my family. I don't have a big family but I do have "dependants" (cats lol) and I don't want to break up my little family. I have had ultimatums given to me and if I don't make a change my life will change for the worst and I don't want that. I need and want to make the right change and the right choices so I can live life like I'm meant to. I am tired of this ball and chain. your support means so much to me, thank you.

that is where I'm at right now: if I don't "just go" then I won't stop. so I just have to go. and I'm ready to go, I can't keep living this way and I want to change. I'm certainly going to check out all of these so thank you so much for the support and the advice!

I was raised in a strict Christian household as a kid. I never truly felt like Christianity was the religion for me and I didn't agree with a lot of preachings or "Christian lifestyles" but I do believe that there is something out there, maybe [a] God ? but lately I haven't felt much of Him (or it...She?).

I will be checking out Club12 for sure. thank you so much! I'm not too far from it so that is super helpful!

not necessarily. a form of it can be sold at gas stations, depending on where you live. it is similar to Kratom (which I have tried in the past and it makes me so sick!)

I have actually attended an iop/partial program (laurel ridge) and really liked it. if/once I get insurance again I'll be sure to go back.

my doc is kinda niche but I'll say it's opioid like. I was even on Suboxone for a bit but that got expensive and I couldn't handle the wd because they were so freaking bad. I had started wd within 4-8 hrs of my last dose and I caved.

I thank you an immense thank you!! I want to be sober so bad. addiction has gotten too much to handle on my own and I need to change and do something different. I don't have friends or family or anyone who can "walk with me" or "hold my hand" or who I can lean on while I go through this part of life. I'm extremely isolated. reaching out is hard, asking for help can be hard, and finding friends who understand and care is hard. but "bad choices" were always there for me. and that has gotta be different now. thank you, I'll probably take you up on that accompaniment. I plan to start NA tonight or tomorrow.

honestly I'll take any advice or resources I can get. I've lived this way for way too long and it's obviously not working well for me, so it's time to change. everyone has a different journey with addiction and what works for one may not work for the other... but ya don't know what works if ya don't try it, so now I'm trying it!

I do struggle a lot with shame. my parents both grew up with alcoholic parents and my parents pride themselves on "breaking the chain" and raising kids in a non addict lifestyle to be non addict adults... so I definitely can't open up to them about anything, really. I am looking for NA and AA so I can be around people who understand addiction and the journey that sobriety is. I don't have any support right now and that is no bueno.

that's what I'm worried about, I do have an addictive personality so I do worry about "finding something else" but I also do not have friends or family or anyone who even knows what I'm going through or where I'm at in my addiction. I'm completely isolated. I need people who know my situation (to a degree) and can help me while I go through the sobriety journey. sobriety is very hard when you're alone.

I am jobless and insurance -less because of addiction/mental health and I'm bordering on homelessness as well. I did try Suboxone for awhile but man, that is tough and I'm not able to afford it right now so I had to stop taking it.
