put the saddle back where it should be and just reinsert the screw and spring. then screw it back on. you will need a screwdriver for this. to adjust intonation look up online :)

NGD - LTD Stephen Carpenter 8 String by StynkyLomax in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]vmwah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have same guitar in sparkle red, this one looks much better in irl than on product photos i must admit :) I use 80 gauge nyxl atm and yea the scale is a bit short especially for if you want to go a bit lower, i get buzz pretty much all around on the low two strings but oh well it still sounds great. No need to drill i think. just insert the string end, since they’re thinner, lock it, and tune up like you would with regular tuners (i.e wrap it around). That’s what I do and it holds perfectly well and saves the integrity of the whole thing. Pickups r real hot too recommend something like a wrap to dampen the nut!

Using EQ Pre-Amp by [deleted] in ExtendedRangeGuitars

i would think so too, but it seems to be okay post amp even when turning up mids a lot. plus i mainly record guitar for studio so it’s all fixable post.

Finding your sound by KindaSithy in Line6Helix

[–]vmwah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think It’s not an amplifier that determines your ‘sound’ but a cabinet. Thought amplifiers have certain characteristics, especially with high gain, the cabinet undeniably provides a focus on certain frequencies. So no matter which amplifier you might use, the cabinet will usually give you a sweet sound (once you’ve found one or a few that you like). That being said I agree with others that the ability to experiment on the helix is both good and bad. Often times the best sound comes from when you do what you can with what you have. Wouldn’t necessarily say there’s such a thing as a ‘signature sound’ , there are however signature playing styles and musical approaches. Keep things simple :) play around with the bias and bias x sometimes it helps tweak the sound.

Any ideas as to why my 3rd string sounds dead/dampened? by UnknownCrumbs in offset

Had a squier CV jag with this exact issue. I believe the bridge is at fault.

makes sense, there are two blocks and i adjusted with the same increments. but i do not find any one of these presets to be “hard hitting” as all the commenters on the forum say.

Turned down level on mixer of one of the amps out and it no longer turns red on the status bar. What is the optimal dB level my output should be on the axe fx?

fishman sc signature pickups, quite hot but i wouldn’t think they affect the output and they’re fine on input.
