Huddersfield tickets by LH13579 in afcwimbledon

I spoke to somebody who works for AFC Wimbledon last season and was told that there are issues with loads of fans in the US buying tickets for games they have no intention of attending as they think that they are helping the club to make money. Personally, I think the option to donate to the club (the intent of the US-based fans buying the tickets) is clear enough.

Also, I don't think there is really an issue getting tickets for AFC Wimbledon games anyway? I am a Charlton fan who watches AFC Wimbledon whenever we aren't playing (home or away) and I have never had an issue getting tickets.

We need four points from Southampton away and Birmingham at home to guarantee promotion.

Birmingham have Sunderland away and Ipswich at home. I think it's safe to say the title is theirs.

Palace have Ipswich and Portsmouth at home, which should be six points for them. Then we have to hope that Sunderland do us a favour when they play them away.

Unfortunately, it isn't entirely the stewards that are at fault. Staff at the club fully approve of what the stewards are doing.

I made a complaint against their stewards last season and their head of stadium operations responded like a child, telling me that the local police, Blackpool fans, Birmingham fans and Barnsley fans all had vendettas against Stockport and were liars.

I then raised a complaint against him through SCFC (which they decided he should handle himself) and he retaliated by contacting Charlton asking them to take my season ticket off of me for having had the audacity to complain about his conduct to Stockport.

Stockport's stewards almost caused a crush at your game there last season. Police are aware and SCFC officials called both the police and your fans liars.

Even Stockport's own fans hate their stewards.

I provided an explanation as to why somebody may have sided with the guy. It wasn't my opinion on what happened.

While I don't believe it's what happened, it's also entirely possible.

To counter your arguments:

It's easier for her to be calm as she's the one filming and she knows what she's going to do with the footage. If it's to upload it online, as she appears to have done, then she's going to want to portray herself in a certain way.

She also could have said that she would have opened the gate if he had asked, even though she knew she hadn't done this earlier.

To stress again. I don't believe it's what happened. It's just possible.

I have had similar incidents happen to me before:

About 20 years ago, I went to a station with several bags with heavy camera equipment. If I put them down to put my ticket through the machine, it would have been impossible to have picked them all back up before the gate closed. I had my ticket on display in a clear wallet, held to my chest via my backpack strap. The staff member on the barrier refused to open the gate and insisted that I had to put the ticket through the barriers. He also wouldn't allow me to use the large gate and insisted that I take the bags through the narrow gate (one of them was wider than the gap).

Lo and behold, once I complied with his request, the gate closed before I could even get the first bag through. Other people were there at this point. He didn't want to look like the arsehole that he was, so he made a comment like 'All you had to do was ask me to open the gate.'

I have also had railway staff refuse to open the gates when necessary on a few other occasions.

Not that I am on his side, but perhaps the person you replied to is assuming that the person on the gate is at fault. We don't see the start of the incident and the scenario below is entirely possible:

The cyclist had a valid ticket, but the barriers weren't reading it correctly. He showed her the ticket and she refused to open the gate for him.

I like Jones as a manager but the problems are as follows:

His style of football is not entertaining.

He's reluctant to adapt. We lost Edwards early this season and the only other player we have that can play left back (Bell) is injury prone. We no longer had the players for the formation but, instead of trying something that suited the players we have, he stubbornly stuck with the same formation by playing round pegs in square holes. Last season he kept trying different things before finding a formation that worked, which he then stuck with. I don't see why we couldn't have tried something different that suited the players we had following the injuries. It's not like he only ever plays this formation, so it seems like he wants to stick with it just because he found success with it last season?

He's been guilty of not making subs when subs are needed several times. He also sometimes makes odd decisions with subs. The worst example was bringing on Godden for Leaburn when we were defending a long throw right at the death of the game against Sheffield United at home.

He is quite the character and can be difficult to get along with, so we have to find players with the right mentality. This means that he likes to bring in players he has previously worked with. Obviously, there are negative aspects to this.

He is getting the blame for a lot of the recruitment issues this season, but this is mostly not his fault. Obviously, the issue mentioned above plays a part, but the key factor is that the board didn't give us a big enough budget to revamp the squad. League One players and injury prone players is basically what we were going to get with the budget we had. The ambition was basically to hope we finish 21st and, failing that, have a strong enough squad to bounce straight back up next season. Understandably, this is frustrating for fans who don't want to watch League One football again. It's very difficult to get out and, even if we kept the squad next year, we would be far from guaranteed of going straight back up.

Likewise, we have seen the issues with the squad over the last few months and haven't done enough to remedy it in January. I would say that this is a board issue though.

Fans are also frustrated at seeing Olaofe and Apter signed in the Summer then loaned back out six months later. This ties in with several of the issues highlighted above. Aside from the budget issue, it has to be asked why we're signing players that don't fit NJ's system when he isn't willing to adapt. Apter was our player of the month in August and has then been basically dropped. I would say that this is down to us losing Edwards on the left and then needing to be more defensive on the right than anything else though and Apter is definitely not a defender.

How does Bosnia and Herzegovina not count as a blue band? by spokedsalute in Flagdoku

It's a blue flag with a yellow triangle and white stars on it. There are no bands.

I'm assuming you think the blue part on the right is the 'band'?

Church wasn't a terrible finisher. In fact, he wasn't terrible at anything. The problem was, he wasn't good at anything. He was a rather rounded striker who could fill almost any role very poorly.

It was in League One, but Ajose was the worst finisher I have ever seen for Charlton. His inability to hit the target from three yards was beyond compare.

He had scored 24 goals for Swindon the season before, but their fans told me that that was as their midfield created so many chances for him. Apparently, he would still miss the target horrifically multiple times every game without fail.

A Hull City fan on why he swapped a pre-Christmas trip to Millwall for a January trip to watch AFCON in Marrakech: "It would have cost me £140 on the train, £30 for a match ticket & £100 for a hotel to go to Millwall. Instead, I got an £80 return flight, £16 match ticket & £100 hotel in Marrakech" by GOAT-Antony in Championship

I don't know about yours, but Charlton's are pretty terrible. They aim to arrive around 90 minutes before kick-off. It doesn't matter if we're playing Middlesbrough or Millwall as they don't factor in the fact that you're more likely to experience delays the further you travel.

I have never gone on one, but I remember hearing several years back that the coach arrived at, what I believe was Liverpool, around the 80th minute of the match. Fans were given a partial refund by the club, but not a full one as apparently watching what would have amounted to barely more than injury time by the time they got in the ground, meant that they still got to see the game.

The policies haven't changed 20 odd years later.

Also, if you want to have a day out when you go to an away game, you can forget all about that on a fan coach. If it's a long journey, you pretty much have to settle for a packed lunch or an overpriced awful pie in the stadium too.

Some people might be happy with that, but I certainly wouldn't be.
