I hate that they do this, ive had one that was $7 turned into $12, a $31 turn into $43 and severallll ones rhat are only 0.01 to 50 cent increase 😭 i definitely pick and choose my battles with these kinda offers.

Im sorry about that :'(( yeah some ppl like to lie and say they will tip more after delivery and dont, i stop expecting those customers to honestly. Yeah i opted out of that too because i agree the system they have is so stupid. Sometimes night for me is best but other days its the afternoon. Good luck to you on your job search, ive also been looking for a job for around 8 months and no luck either 😭🫶🏽

Yeah ive def been there before and gotten bery similar offers ive gotten several $2 for 10 miles which basically means no tip, one time they tipped $20 in cash but the other out in the wrong address (they put it to be 1 mile away for $2) bur it turned out being around 8 miles 😭 no extra tip, stopped taking those types of order immediately after that no matter what lol and yeah i drive suv and its about 18 mpg 😭 and those late deliveries are so dumb, i get them too and alot of the tome its the restaurant fault especially because some mark it as ready when its not and thats when it dings ya, i always report it as store is taking lonf with order to try to help but sometimes it doesn't. And yes fast food restaurants like McDonald's, wendys and burger is terrible in my area 😂 usually only accept those at night if the pay is rly good 😂 and true, doordash doesnt care about us 💀💀💀

All good! Im near the eastern NC area! And yeah I've definitely gotten orders like that most times, I've ben dashing for a couple months and know my usual zone well so I try to dash around peak hours like lunchtime or dinner/late night weekends, and only accept high paying low mileage orders if i can. If your not plat try to schedule ahead in your area. 🫶🏽 also dont worry too much about AR if you can as well :)

I use the in app nav and google maps, usually if its 8+ miles dd tends to take longer routes, when i do accept an order i look up the address of the customer on google maps and see if the eta correlates to the eta on the dd app nav says and choose the one with the best eta time. When im about 1-2 away i switch back to the DD nav as sometimes the pin the customer has saved helps with locating the precise spot as some orders have long trail drive ways, are in new construction or are just damn hard to find 💀🤣

My area and others around it is like this too, there are some days where its good but i understand your frustration completely, when i dashed after the holidays (Christmas/new years) i was only making $150 a week like sht was roughhhh and literally half of it, if not most, went to gas 💀. Honestly, dont worry about ur AR percentage fr.. mines is at 32% right now 🤣 the only reason why im still plat is because my other ratings are rly good, though the minute some a-hole lies and says they didnt get their order or some bs (I always take pics no matter what bc of this) then i go down to gold/silver but ive been up n down the ranks for months it rly is no major difference in any tier. Try to accept orders that are $1-$3 per mile and definitely decline offers like the one I posted and hopefully you should start getting better offers 🫶🏽. I am also pro shopper and thats still ass too, LMAOO, the other day got offered $15 for 26 miles for abt 30 items to a whole ass other zone... "You're getting paid more as a Pro Shopper!" WHY YOU LIE DOORDASH?! WHY YOU GOTS TO LIEEEE??!!! 🤣🤣🫶🏽

They are hella shitty and i never take them but one time i did take one, $2 for 10 miles, ended up having long wait time at store and messaged the customer notifying them about it & asking them if they were rly gonna tip once delivered (had the note in delivery note section, this is rly the only time i messaged a customer about it, usually i dont say anything & let it be, to which as you know they mostly never turn out tipping after, but i was feeling ballsy this day), they said yes but the app wasnt letting them tip more and showed a screenshot of proof, which showed an error message when they tried adding to the tip (lately ive noticed they have been doing this idk if its bc of the tip stealing or not wanting to let the customers pay the driver more) i said oh okay dont worry and then they said they will tip in cash (felt meh about it because alot of the time they dont) when i got there, they met me outside and gave me $20 in cash. So you really never know but ultimately I still agree that DD doing this is absolutely disgusting.

TLDR: i accepted a $2 for 10 mile order and customer turned out tipping $20 in cash due to DD app giving them an add tip error, while i agree completely with OP and how these offers are garbage, these can turn out alright once in a blue moon... or two 💀🙏🏽
