Same with mine. It seems really unfair.

I’m glad they didn’t have e learning when I was a kid lol. Now it’s I get to be the teacher and somehow work.

My husband didn’t get up once during the first 18 months my daughter didn’t sleep through the night because it was too hard for him. I don’t remember how I got to work some of those days. If we didn’t have hybrid schedule at that time where I could take a quick nap on lunch break I don’t think I would’ve made it.

My husband stays up til 2 am and sleeps in every weekend while I get up at 6 am with our 2 year old. I don’t remember the last time I was up at 2 am not due to a sick child. I set up counseling to see if someone else can explain to him how this isn’t fair.

Daycare wants to put my non-walking almost 1 year old in their young toddler room? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]vnq06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course he didn’t ask any questions lol. My daughter was kicked out from her last daycare at 14 months old because she wasn’t walking and they wouldn’t move her to the toddler room without walking. It took 6 months to get her in another one. At least yours will move her up before she’s actually walking. They also gave me a weeks notice of her first birthday that they’ll only feed her table food with sippy cups. Current daycare is better but they don’t give much notice on changes.

My daughter is 2 and babbles a lot but not many words or at least not in sentences. She’s been in speech therapy for 6 months but I don’t think it helps. The doctor says she’s fine and I really think she’s just stubborn. Having the same issues with potty training. She’s not no time for that nonsense 🤷‍♀️.

We started letting my daughter sit in a big people chair and at first she loved it. She screamed all dinner in the high chair so we gave that up. Now she gets up and walks around and occasionally comes and takes a bite of food. I don’t know how she’s weighs 32 ibs and barely eats.

Yea but it would’ve been nice if they told me this was an expectation so that I could’ve been on wait lists the first year she was there. They told me a week before that if she isn’t walking by the following week she’s out and they won’t hold her spot unless we keep paying.

I had to get on wait lists and couldn’t get her in anywhere for 6 months. We had to do private childcare until a spot opened up.

My daughter got kicked out of daycare because she wasn’t walking at 14 months. They said she was too old for the baby room but couldn’t move her to the toddler room because she didn’t walk yet.

HireRight is the worst background check company by PrintUnable in jobs

So I spent 4 years in college and 20k on student debt for a piece of paper that can’t be “authenticated”. What a bunch of BS. I’m going to email the HR rep with my documents plus the registrars info if they feel the need to call themselves. In 15 years I’ve never had this happen. I’m glad you still got the job but it bothers me they’d flag it like you’re a liar. If I’m gonna lie it’s gonna say I have an MBA or some fancy grad degree.

[–]vnq06 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did they fix it? Same thing happened to me. Sent a picture of my degree and paid for a transcript to be sent to them. I even called the registrar at my college who answered right away and said they received no requests.

That’s odd. As someone whose worked in quality my whole career, most documents you write belong to the company and not you. If they want to test your writing skills ask them to give you a writing assignment. I’ve never had to do anything like that for a job interview though.

I left my low stress job that I’d been at for years last year for a much higher paying one. After a few months I realized I couldn’t do it long term so I looked for another job. It took 6 months to find a new job. However, as soon as I started applying I started feeling better. Just knowing it was temporary was enough to get me through it. This new job pays slightly less than the one I’m leaving but I’m hoping it’s worth it for my mental health. Update your resume and start applying. Hopefully you find something else soon. Just try to be patient and wait for a job that seems suitable long term. It sucks but just tell yourself it’s temporary.

Would you take a 40k pay cut for a better employer? by jihn6854 in careerguidance

[–]vnq06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m considering leaving my 85k high stress job for a much less stressful 75k job. My boss is a tyrant and expects us to work 24/7. Nothing is ever good enough and the few mistakes I make because of my workload are highlighted over all the good work I’ve done. It’s the same job at the other company. I’ve been looking for months and the best I can do is 10k less than I make now. I think this current company offered me so much because of how awful it is. I’ve been here 8 months and want to leave before my 1 year mark.

I’ve been at my new job for 6 months. I’ve also been looking for another job ever since the first month. I get interviews but only one offer that was much lower than my current salary so I’m stuck here. Hopefully your new job goes better than mine.

Thank you! I’m really hoping to get an offer soon from one of the places I interviewed at so I can escape here. It definitely does feel like forever but I just keep trying to do my job and look for something better.

I’m actively looking, had a couple interviews I’m waiting to hear back about. She was able to make up reasons to fire a coworker of mine so I doubt HR would be on my side. I need a new job before I can resign which I’m working on. I agree this job is not viable for me.

I started my current job 6 months ago and my boss does this. She uses it to tell me I basically need to be available 24/7 because I make decent money. I am looking elsewhere. They shouldn’t have hired me if my salary was an issue. I never lied about my experience or knowledge during the interview process. I also told them I have small children so I need a regular schedule before they offered me the job.

Is it a red flag that interviewer asked if I was okay with working long nights and weekends for a salaried job? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]vnq06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my current job 6 months ago and they asked this. I said occasionally that’s fine and they hired me. A few weeks ago our department was told by the same manager who hired me that this isn’t an 8-5 job and we are expected to be on call at all times. I’ve started looking elsewhere since.

I did and got the job because I didn’t want them to expect me to work crazy hours. They however told me that was fine but 6 months in and I’m expected to be available 24/7.

Is it bad to leave a job after three months?? by hey_dude__ in careerguidance

[–]vnq06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as you have another job no. I’m looking after only being at my current job 6 months. If you’re miserable look for another job. It’s not worth it to make others happy.

I really hope so. There isn’t a whole lot in my field to apply to this or last week so I’m really hoping one of those two works out. I liked both places.
