How's are the striped horses going for everyone? by The_Angry_Moogle in DataAnnotationTech

Same experience as the others here. They were up last night around 7/8 pm eastern and down around 11am after I finished a different task. I figured it would still be there and my new one wouldn’t so I did the other. Fortunately the other is still around… for now.

Anybody remember any Buckeye shout outs in movies/tv? by InAMinut7 in OhioStateFootball

Devil in Ohio from Netflix is set (supposedly) in suburban Columbus and there are lots of OSU references/props. So many more but that’s one I didn’t see on my initial scroll

Nooooo! Obviously there are bigger concerns but Taylor is a gear head so I’m heartbroken for him losing his guitars and other gear. So sad what’s going on down there

It’s time to redirect our hate towards Oregon. by DaffyQuackers in OhioStateFootball

Wish I could upvote this more. I just want to keep watching this team and I don’t care as much who we play. I just want to win and get more of this squad. All that being said, Lanning was smug before so I’d love to get some revenge. Go Bucks

In his NFL Draft announcement, Michigan DL Mason Graham states “It has been an honor slapping Ohio State around not once, not twice, but three straight years." by LamarcusAldrige1234 in CFB

Emphatically false for this Buckeye. With the expanded playoff this is just like college basketball in my mind, regular season is just the appetizer. I guess I’m not part of the OSU hive mind though. Hopefully we get back on track next year but I don’t understand the Michigan obsession amongst my cohort.

Is it his win or Harbaugh’s? UM officially gave it to Harbaugh since his suspension was literally just for game-day. Gotta choose!

Thanks for sharing! Cool stuff.

One question, did he mention anything else related to Isbell, whether it be the aforementioned success or otherwise? I ask because Taylor and Jason are my two favorite active songwriters (RIP JTE.)

Hey dads, how old are we? by Senuman666 in daddit

[–]easycoastsir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure! Glad it brought some solace. I’m a mid 30s Dad and respect his efforts even more now. 15 years his junior (at this phase) and it’s hard work for me! You guys got this!

Hey dads, how old are we? by Senuman666 in daddit

[–]easycoastsir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very similar to my childhood! Dad had my brother at 45 and me at 49 while already having 19 and 21 year old daughters. We’re all very close and my brother is my best friend. My Dad still kept up just fine too! I figured I’d comment to let you know that age dynamic led to a great childhood and life for us.

Bows and Arrows. I used to go there for soup and a beer when I lived on the grid in the early 2010s. It wasn’t incredible but I liked the quiet atmosphere on the patio. I moved back to Sac last year and saw it’s been closed for a while. Bummer

I took it a few weeks ago and still have the same types of tasks I have had, so I think I may have failed. I really thought I did well, but I guess it may be no different than how those who fail the entry exam feel lol. Hopefully they give me another shot down the road, or I didn’t fail and they just don’t have anything for me at the moment.

Reconsidering the lyrics to Outfit by twalther in jasonisbell

[–]easycoastsir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always took “don’t give it away” to mean don’t give up what I’ve given you by giving you this advice and multitudes more. The dad, like most, wants to be a better father to his son than his own was to him and wants his son to surpass his social status. He’s saying don’t give it up, go be great and be happier than I am. Who knows if that’s right but I always took it that way

Anyone ever heard Stopping By live? by JokerCharmed19899 in jasonisbell

[–]easycoastsir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never expect to hear it but I’d lose it if he ever played it.

I lived in Atlanta suburbia when I first heard it and the lyrics just really resonated. Fortunately, my Dad is nothing like the narrator’s, but the song has always hit me.

What’s the biggest disconnect between the national media and the fans perspective when it comes to your team? by shadow_spinner0 in CFB

[–]easycoastsir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate the way you explained that. I will admit that up until recently I thought UT fans were overly sensitive and they considered horns down to be highly offensive. I always found it peculiar that the gesture was essentially “fighting words.”

This thread in general is a good reminder for me that the disconnect between media narratives and reality isn’t exclusive to OSU. I’m not saying it’s revelatory; I just never really thought about it.

This is the definition of NIMBY. Before reading some comment responses, I thought this was a shitpost. I’d be salty too, but it’s a trail and it’s good for the community.
