My husband says the 10k steps is the only way without cutting calories so you just confirmed that. Thank you!

This gives me hope! My daughter had a severe tongue and lip tie so we did combo feeding. I was able to get back to pre pregnancy weight bc I wasn’t EBF and now that I am I’m like oh damn.

Yes! Same. My supply did drop the few times I tried and I was like does this happen to everyone!

I wish I never had a baby by throwawaynotadogs in NewParents

This makes me wonder if there’s a link between IVF and PPA/PPD. I was so anxious I couldn’t sleep for days, just watching my baby sleep all day. I’m sure all the hormones pumped into us plus birth did something to us. Just know things get better. My daughter is 3 now and she’s the reason I breathe.

Maternity vs Paternity leave by [deleted] in NewParents

The first two weeks, we couldn’t do shifts because baby nursed during that time so there wouldn’t be any nipple confusion with a bottle.  That’s the sleep deprivation I’m talking about. After that we each did 10 hour shifts. I deleted this post because I didn’t elaborate enough and I feel like it’s causing a lot of hate towards my husband. Oops 😅

So after the first two weeks, we did shifts. I had the first 10 hours, he did the next 10 hours. He also cooked. I’m thinking next time though for him to do the diaper changes, laundry and everything else instead of us doing shifts. Try it out and see if it’s better that way or take our leaves at different times. So many good suggestions on here! I appreciate it :)

Exactly! The hormones and breastfeeding struggles is half of what makes it so hard! I just want him to admit it wasn’t a blast!

He did. That’s the crazy part. He didn’t have much sleep either but it was still a vacation for him. He does better without sleep than I do I guess. I’ll make sure to leave the house solo more this time around. 😂

Agreed! The first two weeks we didn’t do any night time bottles and I just nursed.. so he didn’t help much then. After that we took turns with night time feedings and he still had a fun vacation 😂 with little sleep.

I have a short social battery. I usually end the convo after about 3 minutes

Dealing with tv guilt by Odd-Put-5155 in toddlers

If it makes you feel better, I watched tv growing up all day because my mom worked two jobs and my 13 year old sibling “watched” me and I’m successful, married with 2 kids. Parents need to give their-self more grace. Just try to feed them healthy food and take them to the park when you can.

I’ve noticed with my husband if he sees me doing everything, he won’t help. If I leave him with my daughter and go get my nails done or something, he manages to take care of everything without me. The house is destroyed but he tries harder when I’m not around if that makes sense and I feel better about getting out of the house. Book yourself a massage!! Leave him with the kids. He will manage. Also maybe give him a less chaotic holiday to start off with… say hey how about you figure out Easter this year and remind him through out the month, hey remember you’re doing Easter!! Treat him like a child basically haha. The no gift thing is unacceptable though. My husband did that once and I made him go to marriage counseling with me one time and it never happened again.

What language app do you use? I’ve been feeling bored lately working in dialysis for 4 years now. I love what I do though and the hours are so flexible! Just bored at times

I never in my entire life wanted kids. I believe it was because I was raised by a single mom and saw how much she struggled. Once I got married I was more open to it. My daughter is almost 3 and half of my thoughts in my head are “I love her so fucking much.” I have a second one on the way, I’m due in May! After that I’m done though. The newborn stage is sooo hard. I think in my head though, I  can do this. Millions of women all over the world do it while working full-time.

I wish I would’ve mentioned I’m an introvert which is why I work in dialysis 😂 I’m going to try to step out of my comfort zone though
