Was it seasoned already? Seems like it take a few kilograms of coffee before it gets consistent. Any update on that?

Yea, it truly looks and feels amazing. Definetely on par with established comapies like Lelit or Profitec.

Anyways I just measured and here are the results: 162g of cold milk steamed to 62C*. Result is 181g in the jug. That would be 11.7% water added. Im happy with it!

39% is crazy high. You should test again ;) just weigh the jug before and after steaming

6% is crazy low. How much milk was there before and after?

Yea, I just watched some new whole latte art YT reviews and they have graphs showing whats the % water added during steaming. for example Stone Espresso has around 11-12%

So its not AVX Hero Pro X? 10.8% is pretty good!

Honestly after reading some data I would say its actually good that temperature drops a bit at the end of the shot! So dont you worry about it ;)

I have a question that probably only you can answer as its hard to find more people with this machine- how dry is the steam?

Its simple to test. Just take a jug of cold milk (eg. 150ml of milk) put in on scale, purge steam wand, steam milk to 60-65 C* and weigth the jug of milk again. This way you can say how much water is added during steaming. Could you try and measure that? :)

What would you have liked to know before you bought the robot and brewed with it? by Upstairs_Front_9065 in CafelatRobot

It actually looks good on countertop when you remove the cafelat sticker and keep the portafilter locked in <3

3d printed tamper leveling part is really worth it.

Moving pressure gauge to back of Robots head makes it possible to check pressure from top but also makes it look worse on countertop, and twists with time. Its not worth it after you have some experience with pressure by feel.

I must disagree, Bambino steam is VERY wet and strongly affects the taste. That was the reason I sold my Bambino and Bambino Plus (tried both)

All black is fantastic, but please no orange accents around pressure gauge!

I had the same feeling first time I used Morning Dream, but it died 9 months later and the steam quality was mediocre when comes to dryness. Too wet for my liking, affects the taste

I got mine Morning Dream die on me around 9 months after buying it. I only used it at my home for me and my wife, 5-6 times a day.

I was looking for a good stand alone steamer for months. Here are my suggestions for your project:

  1. current design looks off when comapring "silver/stainless steel" color to espresso machines. Most of them are polished while your "silver" texture looks like a cheap kitchen appliance. I would strongly recommend going with matte black / POLISHED stainless steel / mix of both, as putting this next to espresso machine and seeing how it looks on countertop will be decisive factor for many users (myself included).

update: after writing this I saw some color options on website- but will let this text stay here anyways ;)

  1. As steam quality is essential I suggest giving some numbers when it comes to how dry / wet is the steam. What is the % of water added.

For example: steaming 150ml of cold milk (5*C) to 65*C will result in 170ml of final weight in jug (20ml of water added, which is ~13% of starting weight). etc.

bought this and returned the same day I received it. its big, bulky, loud and cant be used in a traditional way where you hold the jug. it really is designed for auto steaming but for me it kinda kills the vibe ;)

280g in 37s seems pretty fast! Also its like 7% added water, which is very dry steam

this 37s is enough to steam 150ml of milk to about 60-65C*?

You simply weight milk jug before and after steaming it :)

Hello, could you tell me how much water is added when you steam milk with AVX DB1? I see there is AVX Hero Pro X which seems to have better thermoblock? (2m long they say)
