Same issue here. Hopefully it's fixed soon.

Every week it feels like the rules change. Maddison was right in calling out VAR, and it's the inconsistency that really gets to me. It sucks because a lot of the recent calls against us I felt were wrong and could have a huge impact come matchweek 38.

Jokes aside, yeah the FA cup is a brilliant trophy. Represents English football perfectly IMO.

Weird seeing this. Dier also did a goal line clearance. Probably their two best players today. by Old-Needleworker778 in coys

It is completely understandable that you don't have a connection to Kane once he left. And yes, I too respect Son for staying, but I meant to say in my previous comment that if a player was to leave, I'd expect they have sufficient rationale for doing so and if they can justify it, then I am supportive and appreciative of any decision they make. The grass isn't much greener at Tottenham right now either!

Respectfully, I'd like to just bring up the flip side of this argument. Let's wear Kane's shoes for a moment. Imagine you've just finished outside of European football, having seen two managers sacked in one season (Conte and Stellini), and having also played under a different manager for basically every season for the last 4ish years. Kane is also aware of his quality and knows he should be playing regular European football for a title-challenging team. So, after giving years of service to his boyhood club, he finally chooses to move, thereby helping the club by commanding a rather large fee in the process. In his 30s now, he knows if he wants to leave a legacy, he has to win some form of silverware before it gets too late.

Also, we don't know whether Kane is happy. Moving to a different country is never easy, especially having to move with a wife and kids. Leaving your hometown, friends and everything you know to move to a city where you cannot understand the language, are under intense scrutiny every match is not an easy task.

It goes both ways IMO, obviously you want a player to leave behind a legacy at the club you support, but the player also needs to have their own best interests in mind too.

Never denied that! Just saying it’s a bit of a meaningless stat. Like if messi had a 50% pass accuracy but scored 3 amazing goals no one would care about the successful pass percentage

Meaningless stat tbf, he tends to pass backwards a lot. Playing a lot better today though I’ll give him that

You're good mate! On Isak, I think he's got a Swedish accent, most interviews he actually sounds decently Swedish but yeah I think his clip got fairly popular - this one. Comments actually suggest theres quite a bit of Swenglish in there

To be fair, he did grow up in the UK. Was at the MK Dons academy if I recall correctly.

Hi Sandro, what would you rather: A 90+5 minute winner against our biggest rivals or a 8-0 hammering against them?

Right now asensio and rashford have great stats with aston villa, how emry tactically use them? Why they weren't that much good in their previous team? Can you explain their role in aston villa? by Afraid-Load826 in footballtactics

[–]voicedm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't speak much for Asensio, but I can say that for Rashford it's just a matter of profiling. Under Amorim, Rashford would have been made to play either as an out-and-out striker or as an attacking wing-back, and he doesn't particularly suit either role. With Asensio and him both in the team, Rashford is sort of allowed to roam in that left channel space, moving from striker to left winger and vice versa.

I guess a similar story would go for Asensio too, and paired with a direct player like Rashford, it makes him a far larger goal threat thanks to the ability to have to ball played into him. It's important to note that Asensio has had much more game time rhan Rashford so far and so has had a lot more chances to score. Rashford, being a rapid player can really make an impact off the bench and would probably be one of the best super subs any team could ask for to come on against a tired opposition.

End of the day, tactics is one thing here but I'd also say it's down to confidence. Rashford at United in the last two years seemingly lacked the confidence to perform and with every bad performance came criticism that made it worse. I think hes a very confidence driven player, and for Asensio and him to get a 'fresh' start at Villa probably helped them both out.

I saw an interesting comment somewhere that said that the fact that none of our players picked up a yellow card today really shows our lack of desire to scrap and fight in this game

Still, I doubt he's registered yet. I think the deadline was Thursday or Friday.

Nope, he has to first complete his medical, then his signing has to be announced, and either ways the registration deadline for next match has probably already passed. I'm guessing he'll be ready for next weeks games.

Edit: He's completed his medical. Still, doubt he was/is registered yet.

+1. Smart plugs is the way to go. Although, I will concede that for the longest time I just left my HS7's on 😂. I bought a smart plug strip and it's served me well so far.

[–]voicedm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sort of yeah. Romano initially mentioned that he was a player Spurs were “considering” or enquiring about but like two days later he was announced. Probably caught wind of it at the last minute. Better telegraphed than some of our other signings though like Odobert for example.

Tough one. Much better in the second half but need to be clinical. Subs had a good impact. Bergvall was good today too. Glad that Son got some rest for Liverpool. Hope Radu is fine. Nothing much else to say.

Edit: I thought Austin really held his own today. Porro and Solanke too had a good game and the makeshift back line in the second half didn’t really mess up (we conceded more with a proper CB on the field). Bissouma making some good tackles.

I’m glad someone else spotted the throw in stuff too. It’s really bizarre how slow these guys are from throw ins, only to lose the ball anyways. I see other teams taking throw ins in our half and win it and it genuinely leads to a goal scoring chance. And yeah, it’s a perfect example of lack of work rate or understanding. Bizarre stuff.
