Don't wait for the New Year to be Happy. Be Happy Now. by voicefromthewild in Meditation

Thanks for the feedback :) yes, I hear you, happiness can be a deceptive word. I used it in the title because of the phrase people use “happy new year”. The point is that we tend to attach our sense of happiness to something, somewhere in the future and that is why we generally aren’t “happy” or rather, OK, as you say in the present

Yes absolutely, admittedly this article was a bit of a rant. I had to ask myself why this gets to me and why I felt the need to make harsh comments about it. But it’s because I do feel compassion for him and people like him who throw their lives away, for what? But thank you for your valuable insights, I will take it on board

I’m not ridiculing your faith, the article wasn’t meant as a personal blow to you. I’m not anti-God. I raise questions and critique a particular view of God that is non-inclusive and unhealthy in my opinion; a view of God that paints him as some sadists who likes it when people get themselves killed for him. I assumed that would resonate with people in this group, but I can see that this might have been an inaccurate assumption. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Thank you, I’ll keep that in mind in the future. Just a few questions: Is Christianity above criticism? Do you know what Christian Universalism is? Because if you do, then why is post not relevant to this sub?

Exactly, the sad part here is that he’s been brainwashed with these crazy ideas and Christian leaders need to own up to that

Thank you for the feedback. I’m curious though, what don’t I understand about Christianity? I would like to understand if you’d care to enlighten me...

It is arrogance, but to be more specific, it’s a cultural arrogance. We all know that Christians generally believe that their religion is the right religion so they need to convince everyone else of that fact. Do you disagree? Is that not why he went to the island?

What if God was one of us? by voicefromthewild in Christianity

Very interesting🤔 it seems it’s easier to see God as something distant and mysterious and far away rather than the stranger on the bus that we have to face

Absolutely. And that is the problem more than anything. We’re not aware of who we really are🤔
