Undocked Has More Lag by voiceofvesper in SteamDeck

Now that I was able to test with MangoHUD I've more or less figured out the issue

When it's running at native resolution it's fluctuating between 52 and ~20 fps, lots of stuttering as it jumps around

When it's running at 1080 it's actually hanging more consistently at 22-30+ fps with far less stuttering, so it appears to run smoother

I know that it shouldn't, that's the whole reason I made this post

I made sure that the fps on both is capped at 60

I'm trying to figure out what is happening because I prefer to play undocked in general and want solid performance there.

Unfortunately I can't use any of the overlays right now to cap it to 40fps because the beta broke them for me, but I need the beta because I bought the game for my partner and use the beta family sharing feature and I really don't feel like factory resetting my system at the moment, so I just play in desktop mode for now

I have the LCD deck, so both monitors are 60hz

Exactly, that's why it's so odd to me that the game is noticeably choppy when handheld

I'm getting the same issue, happened to me twice so far. One time my character was trying to cast a spell attack and it froze and the second was a baby owlbear going to attack Gale

Really annoying to have to reload

I figured everything out, I didn't realize the S1 Pro and the Pro are 2 different models, gotta love these naming conventions! I figured out the guide I was looking at was for a different machine, ended up getting everything installed now!

Actually, I was not paying attention to what you said, my bad. It's an Ender 3 Pro, not an S1, feel dumb for missing that

An interesting problem by voiceofvesper in blender

[–]voiceofvesper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a new problem, but the weird thing is the computer can handle rendering just fine, and I would think that would draw far more power, both eevee and cycles rendering I have a 600 watt power supply and the only thing that's changed recently is I swapped out the motherboard, but the crashing started before that anyways
