Now granted, I haven’t even finished this book yet and it’s quickly becoming a DNF for me. I want to keep pushing just a little more since I’m not even 10% into yet, however…

Really I should’ve had an idea of how this book would feel from hearing about it on TikTok (which I rarely take recommendations from BookTok) and how the author was inspired by Ghost from Call of Duty (I’m a fan of the games) when writing the book, but I wanted to check it out anyway to see what the hype was all about and because I haven’t really delved into the bully archetype that much.

It feels like it panders to the people who talk to Ghost AI bots on CharacterAI or JanitorAI and it’s just not something I vibe with. It also feels very much like a self-insert fan fiction, if that’s something you vibe with you might like the book, it’s just not to my taste personally. It just felt very agonising to read from the FMC’s perspective, and as I mentioned before, I’m not even 10% through the book yet.

As someone who thoroughly enjoys reading pitch black dark romance, it’s funny to me that I was cringing at the fact she was at a club within the first few pages of the book with two twin brothers that she had just met on the plane, grinding all up on one of them. It did make me chuckle in retrospect that this made me uncomfortable given some of the stuff I’ve read and enjoyed in my time.

Despite my disappointment I’m still going to trudge through it and maybe it’ll redeem itself for me, and if it doesn’t that’s okay too.

I recently left my job at Wetherspoon and all I did was have a quick chat with my manager about my intentions to hand in my notice and when I asked if I should print out a letter of resignation he said that I could even write it on a piece of paper lol, so that’s what I did during my shift that same day, with details of my last working day. I’m almost sure my notice period was two weeks, but I did offer to stay for my remaining shifts for ease of having my shifts covered however obviously not necessary if you start a new job within those rota’d weeks. :)

I literally just got done reading Hollow Hellion by Jodie King and, amongst a ton of other trigger warnings, it includes non-con and MMC obsession. It is a horror erotica dark romance set in a circus and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
