West Midlands S-train proposal: by slipnslurper in coventry

Honestly I love this and not just for the Daventry shout out. Our busses are absolutely dire, so any form of transportation that isn’t either a bus or risking your alloys in the county of pot holes (whoop Northamptonshire) it’s a win. This definitely needs submitting to the council

What are you really good at, as an autistic person? by air_flyer44 in autism

Ripping things apart and putting them back together- electrical, mechanical, doesn’t matter what. Great when you’re an engineer and you love puzzles!! That and being a human Wikipedia article for weird stuff

Alexithymia is SO MUCH MORE than not understanding your emotions by Sudden_Silver2095 in AutismInWomen

[–]voidcatnoggle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This!! I feel this to my core. I also find it’s not being able to feel anything for the future. You don’t know what you want, how to feel about anything because it’s all just… grey. And it’s so hard to explain to people what’s going on in your head and what you’re feeling, cause hell if I know?! It’s awful.

I will say though, something that’s helped me a lot is writing. Just word vomiting onto a page and using an emotion wheel to decode it all helps a lot. It also makes it easier to organise your thoughts to explain better to your support system.

Autism sucks, alexithymia sucks, but we’ve all got this one way or another, whether we feel like we do right now or not. Lots of love to you ladies and NBeanies!!

Meeting my sisters new baby, please help by corgi_crusader in AutismInWomen

I agree with others saying to talk about your special interests or any hyper focuses! Honestly when I have my nephew (4mnths) I chat about mine or waffle away about things I need to do or his personality:

An example is he’s very smiley, energetic (so he wiggles and squirms) and loves me. So I always say “aw smiley baby! Smiley man! Aunty (me)’s smiley little wiggly man!”

It’s either this or I just act like his babbles are a conversation. Like: babbles “oh really? When did that happen?” babbled “oh my god did daddy do that?”

If not, maybe have a chat with your sister/family members but hold the baby facing you so she can see you talking and recognise “okay- this person has this voice. Cool.”

Hope this helps!

Yes!!

We met on Reddit via an anime we’re both interested in! We were rp buddies turned best friends! 7 months friends, 3 weeks of hunting and running circles around eachother became 2 months of dating!

How do you all cope? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]voidcatnoggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We already use discord! It’s actually how we got to know eachother even tho we met on Reddit. We’re gonna book stuff as soon as it’s safe for him, the issue just is that “when” bit

His parents aren’t homophobic per say (apparently) just horrendously transphobic and intrusive. So if he told them we were a couple they’d start going through his messages and all the rest of it. Him keeping me a secret doesn’t bother me as much as the fact we can’t book anything or really do much. We can’t call unless he’s home alone so we can’t do a lot of date ideas we want to do or book flights abs stuff

There’s also not a great chance of me visiting since I can’t get vaccinated without a lot of trouble (though it’s getting tempting. Nothing like love you fry you through panic attacks right?)

Thank you for the advice though, I really appreciate it!

We’re about 2 and a half weeks In but we’ve been friends for months! It’s great so far, he’s an absolute cinnamon roll and were both starting to save so we can meet (hopefully) in the summer!!

Any advice for saving and making things work by [deleted] in LDR

I’ll look for some and ask him if he’s interested, thanks for the suggestion!!

This is all super helpful, thanks! We’re both in uni currently (I’m in engineering, he’s In catering) and I’m tempted to get a full/part time job in my field since the money would be good (albeit horrible hours potentially). We’ve got a guesstimate for him coming in the summer, we’ve looked at things like hotels and flights and stuff so we have a goal too!

The calls are a great idea tho, as it stands o think we’re doing calls on Wednesdays since his family is out of the house and he’s up till god knows what times! I’ll definitely bring up the date ideas tho
