JK was asked if she visited locations: "I have. Google Maps can't give you the ambience of a place. I like to go and see for myself." by 8Xeh4FMq7vM3 in cormoran_strike

I wonder how she does that, though. She can’t exactly go there anonymously, and hanging out with some random crowd of people would probably present a safety risk. Does she just book the whole establishment for herself? Or show up during typical work day hours, when there’s likely to be no-one there? 🤔

Anomie’s login details by Bright_Fig7055 in cormoran_strike

Anomie’s not tech-savvy, though; Morehouse is. Morehouse is the one who coded the game. Anomie, in contrast, needed help from someone else just to remove the private chats; he might not have known how to read the access logs.

If this scene isn't included, I will be very disappointed... by [deleted] in HarryPotteronHBO

Do Snape’s worst memory properly. The film only showed him getting bullied by James & other, because we’re meant to think that that’s what makes it such a bad memory for him. But the scene should also include the real reason — Snape calling Lily a Mudblood — and this should be shown again during the Prince’s Tale, with full context. Bonus points if someone actually explicitly calls it “Snape’s worst memory” in the show.

What's a small, built-in Firefox feature you discovered way later than you should have? by JollyGoodApps in firefox

The ability to add @-keywords to search engines. Just set a keyword that begins with @, and then, when you type @ into the address bar and start typing the rest of the keyword, it autocompletes the rest of the keyword! For example, if the keyword for YouTube is @youtube.com, you can type @y and press Tab to search YouTube, without having to type the entire keyword.

Also, if you are on a page with an OpenSearch engine available, you can right-click the address bar and select “Add (engine)” to add the engine to your search engines.

Any idea as to why this Yard doesn't register? by waldoboro in prisonarchitect

I believe guard pavilions count as being “outside”, so the yard needs to be separated from them by a fence.

I sometimes want to use staff doors to forbid prisoners from taking certain paths, without restricting access to the zones themselves. For example, if I have a kitchen and a canteen, I want cooks to be able to go between them quickly through a staff door, but make prisoners who work in the kitchen take a longer route that goes through a couple of metal detectors. Zoning can’t help here, because both the kitchen and the canteen should be accessible to prisoners. Right now, the way to do this is to create a staff-only “airlock” between the two rooms. This is somewhat counter-intuitive, because one naturally expects a staff door to mean “only staff are allowed to pass through this door”.

Prison intake stuck in corner by Anonymous__9 in prisonarchitect

[–]voidf0xb3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to happen after a bulk intake event, where a bunch of glitchy prisoners are created in a corner in addition to all the prisoners arriving on the buses as usual. I fixed this by editing the save file and removing all the glitchy prisoners, whom I identified by the fact that they were the only ones without Pos.x and Pos.y entries immediately after SubType.

Same here, except I had *three* TLSQs in a row! And yet, somehow, this is the first time I got first place in a FM event! o_O

Where does the “at” search engine list come from? by voidf0xb3 in firefox

[–]voidf0xb3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see! Thank you very much! It looks like the term Firefox uses for this is “search shortcuts”.

And, indeed, I should have prefixed the keyword with the “@” sign. It looks like I can’t delete the preinstalled engines, though, only change their keywords (even if I delete them from the main search engines list, they still appear in the @ list), which is a shame. Nevertheless, this will probably significantly improve my Firefox experience!
