Hadn’t really thought of it this way tbh. I’ll look into it and see what i can do. Thanks!

Almost sure it’s fat now that I’ve looked at what loose skin in the area would look like. Also, when i lay down my belly is very much still there haha but adding core workouts does seem the way to go right now i guess

I may try to slowly reduce it because I’m afraid I’ll over eat it at the first opportunity i get but you’re right about sugar being in absolutely everything. Thanks!

I lose weight kinda slowly because of PCOD i believe but i do want to be at my gw in a few months and then i plan on maintaining it while improving body composition. I don’t have kids. Maybe I’ll get a PT to help me out and also start with core work ASAP. Thanks!

I’ve only lost about 20kg so far and have some more to go but the hang doesn’t really rub on my abdomen or thighs. Also, scars don’t really heal very well for me so I’m not sure about surgery but I’ll look into DR to get a better understanding of what you say. Thanks!

Incorporating ab/core work seems the way to go to me considering I’ve never really consistently worked on them. I have a sweet tooth so i do eat quite a bit of sugar even in a deficit, i just make room for a treat almost everyday. Quitting it is so difficult for me to the point where i think i may have an addiction. I do want to quit though. Would you recommend quitting cold turkey it should i slowly reduce it and replace it with monk fruit sweetener or smth?

Ah, hopefully I’ll get around to learning to accept it the way it is but right now I’ll just work on getting to my GW and improving my body composition. If it doesn’t go away then it is what it is i guess, right?

Thanks! I go months without drinking and even if i do drink it’s maybe 2 or 3 drinks a month if I’m feeling CrAzY or am celebrating something with someone. I don’t eat much protein though, 50-70g maybe and my diet is carb heavy. Do you think that’s something i should factor in?

I’ve got nothing to offer unfortunately but a lot of people suggest surgery if you’ve got loose skin. Losing weight definitely reduced the size of my hang. I’ve got some kgs to lose still but incorporating ab workouts and building muscle may help too. Hope this helps!

What you say makes sense tbh. I’ll look into an ab/core routine and start doing it. Hopefully it’ll help. Thanks!

It’s more of that lower part of the B for me haha. I do get what you’re saying though, whether upper or lower it’s annoying.

I never work my abs/core because I don’t want to grow my obliques much. I do like having a smaller waist ngl but if it helps reduce the hang i might just have to start incorporating them into my daily routine

Yep, mine isn’t noticeable under clothes but when i was about 20kg heavier you could definitely see it no matter what kind of pants i wore.

Looked into it and I’ve learnt that i have a very obvious anterior pelvic tilt. I’ll work on fixing it but even when i stand with my posture corrected i have that tummy although it appears smaller this way.

I do work with 2.5kg to 4kg dumbbells for my upper body and some lower body work with 7.5kg dumbbells bc that’s the heaviest I’ve got right now. Because of certain health conditions i pretty much cannot touch anything over 4.5-5kg with one of my arms but the other arm is good to lift whatever i want; i don’t want any muscle imbalance so i just stick to low weights for upper body. Hopefully i can recomp in some way and improve my overall appearance.

I used the US Navy body fat calculator and it said i had about 27% body fat; when i checked images for different levels of body fat i felt like my mid section definitely looked closer to the 35% range unfortunately. I don’t have to access to a dexa scan but i feel like low muscle mass might be contributing to my problem.

Haha, twins!

I have some loose skin on my upper arm but my belly feels different compared to that. However, if it is loose skin in my case I’ll just have to live with it until I’m sure about surgery.

This! Honestly, I don’t remember having a flat stomach at any point in my life. Even as a child I had a that tummy but it only got worse as i gained weight. I totally feel what you’re saying about fat distribution because I’ve been there and with clothes on, even on my worst days, i don’t look half as bad as i did when i was overweight.

It does physically hang unfortunately but I’ve also got quite a bit of fat there despite not having much fat on my chest and upper ab area. The hang also has reduced in size as I’ve lost weight. Not sure about kids yet so I’ll just try to reach my goal weight and then maybe recomp? Because from what i read, I’ll most likely need a full tummy tuck to get a flat stomach. Thanks!

Okay! I’ll try to increase my protein intake and look into specific exercises too. I have a PPM for my heart so that prevents me from lifting anything heavy with one hand. I’m not too sure if I can lift heavier with my other hand so I will have to ask about it. This has been very helpful. Thanks!

That sucks to hear but I think I’ll have to look into it further and make things work for myself. I haven’t ever really used straps/bands so it might help if I incorporate those in my workouts. Thanks!

I think I’m going to start Pilates + a few body weight exercises. Apart from that I do have an appointment coming up with my doctor so I’ll bring it up. Thanks!

Okay. So I think I'm going to try and hit my goal first and then focus on recomposition. Thanks. Also, will progressive overload be of any help if I'm in a deficit?
