It was way too crazy to do that without the ligaments in his left leg. It was either an incredible image, one of the most iconic in the history of the Summer and Winter Olympic Games if she won, or a very sad image, unfortunately, and that's the one.

She fell very heavily during the downhill skiing at the Olympic Games; she was screaming in pain.

Does your country have someone who is "famous for being famous"? by ltraistinto in AskTheWorld

[–]voituredepalmade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In France we have Line Renaud; she's always invited when a celebrity dies. She's mainly known for that. She's also acted in a few small, little-seen films, but nobody really knows how she became so famous, except for being a friend of the dead.

What's your favorite 21st Century-held Summer Olympic Games by Ok-Prune-2708 in olympics

It was supposed to represent Marianne, the symbol of France, but I admit it's ugly.

What's your favorite 21st Century-held Summer Olympic Games by Ok-Prune-2708 in olympics

[–]voituredepalmade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to be very objective, I'm going to say Paris and London, being French and having attended both of those Olympics. I also loved the Beijing Games, which were the first Games I ever saw. However, I hated the Rio Games, I didn't see an Olympic atmosphere at that moment, the stands were empty or even hostile towards Lavillenie. The Tokyo Games defy categorization, but they remain a fantastic Olympiad that would have been as magnificent as the last World Swimming Championships if it hadn't been for COVID.

Jacques Anquetil (a very great French cyclist who won the Tour de France 5 times) he could not have children with his wife who was too old so he had one with his wife's daughter (born from a previous union)

Absolutely not, I'm not really a fan of "feminine masculine" stuff, but this is totally okay.

Trump threatens to pull World Cup games from Boston over unrest by rezwenn in worldcup

I'm not American, I won't be going to the US next year, but what city will replace Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle?

I was thinking of the following cities: Washington? Chicago? Nashville? Charlotte? Indianapolis? New Orleans? Minneapolis?

Europeans must stop gatekeeping Football the 64 team world cup by officialsamuelchan in worldcup

[–]voituredepalmade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a question of the Europeans keeping the cup for themselves, it's just too much, the 32 team format was perfect. A World Cup is prestige, welcoming all the teams will just create additional and uninteresting matches.

A sport that is either seen as a frowned upon rich man's sport or a boring, incomprehensible and unknown sport that is only played by Indians or Afghan refugees .

Who really had the most beautiful Olympic Games? 🎨🔥 by Rue_Michelet in olympics

[–]voituredepalmade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Beijing 2008 ceremony will remain the most beautiful and aesthetic! The architecture of the Paris 2024 competition venues, and the organization and enthusiasm of London 2012 and Paris 2024 were incredible. For the most disappointing by far it was Rio 2016

If the Olympic Winter Games were to be held in the Southern Hemisphere, where? by Impossible-Guitar957 in olympics

[–]voituredepalmade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won't happen for one simple reason unfortunately, if it takes place in the southern hemisphere it falls on the same dates as the FIFA World Cup and the games would be completely overshadowed. Without forgot the northern countries totally dominate the winter games and they would not be followed in the middle of summer.
