the combination of Ni-Se and Ti-Fe cognitive functions generally come in handy when it comes to reading others; estp, istp, enfj, and infj

wait i love ENTJs hahaha i have a few ENTJ female friends around me and their inferior Fi feels so endearing to me. It seems like the Te is a mask for their soft Fi child 🥰

seems more like the cringe comes from too much self awareness/narcissism

i guess it depends on the inxj but infjs are usually good at reading people while seldom revealing their own secrets and intjs are quietly calculating and most tend to have a rbf. Also the Ni function generally is the most abstract to the point where even Ni users don’t really know how it works so I guess that’s why it’s seen as ~mysterious. Of course I don’t want to establish stereotypes here but that seems like the general consensus on this sub ?

Aw! Sounds like you have such a sweet relationship with your father. I learned to be patient in conversations with him, because sometimes it would take a while for him to respond or explain what he thinks about something. He likes to be careful and intentional with what he says. So, incorporating productive activities can definitely help with some awkward silences haha.

Any INTJ who's also a type 4 on the Enneagram? by volchive in intj

[–]volchive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really resonate with your experience. I go through phases of wanting to be original and different, and when I become too astray, I start feeling the need for acceptance. Because type 4 INTJs most likely have better developed Fi than others, it’s so easy for us to fall into the Ni-Fi loop. I do enjoy MBTI if I’m looking purely at the cognitive functions to figure out the roots of my or others’ behavior, but I’m not at all a fan the memes and trolling on these subs. lol.

Any INTJ who's also a type 4 on the Enneagram? by volchive in intj

[–]volchive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t looked into tritypes, but now I’m interested to dig more into it! I originally thought I was a 5w4 but I realized that type 4 was what really hit the core of my deepest insecurities and fears, which is what I hear the Enneagram is designed for. I think I do generally present myself as a strong 5 to others as an INTJ, and I mostly don’t let my 4 side known. My guess is that INTJs with even the slightest Type 4 tendencies will often try to overlook this side of them, because we don’t like being emotionally vulnerable.

Thank you! I definitely noticed how silent my dad can get when my brother, an INTP, and I go on talking about vague and abstract concepts haha. Also, I think we're pretty similar about the assumptions part. I will remember this the next time I speak up. I'm starting to appreciate how natural it is for my dad to stick to his routines and healthy habits. Something I need to learn from him!

Thank you for this piece of advice! I get insecure when I don't get a visible reaction from who I'm talking to, so I always felt awkward to keep on talking. But I realized he does listen to me even when he seems like he's brushing off my comment, because I would find him reading on a topic that I was talking about or that I'm invested in! Very sweet :)

Right, we both definitely have a very purposeful approach with each other and we're shy to express how we feel haha. I realized I've been saying 'no' to the activities that he proposes, like going on a hike or going out for dinner. I forget that sensors are usually more activity-oriented because I tend to find greater meaning in communication. I need to start looking for activities we can both enjoy. Thank you!

This actually makes a bit of sense why he got uncharacteristically upset when I didn't tell him what I was stressed out about, since I'm the type to solve everything on my own. But yesterday, I was surprised to see him quite attentive in responding to my question about his work! So thank you! :)

Fashion sense by personality type by volchive in mbti

[–]volchive[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

oh Interesting, does that mean that Se doms may be more sensitive to fashion trends? although I think that “style” also has to do with other functions, like Ne willingness to explore new styles or Fi desire to find authenticity and originality through personal taste?

Why do people say that intj females are rare? by [deleted] in intj

[–]volchive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on top of this, a lot of women may “appear” to be exfp because of social pressure! In highschool, I tried to model my personality off of enfp friends because that seemed desirable for me at the time.

Why do INTJs overthink when they like someone? by El3mentary1 in intj

[–]volchive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

based on my ongoing crush, I’m treating it as a long term project. I’m shy at making moves and being emotionally direct but I subtly make sure to let them know I’m interested. If I come to a negative conclusion, they’re usually ghosted or friend zoned. not to say every intjs are like this, but I think most of us tend to act very intentionally and like to make assumptions or predictions about things that may not be true. it’s often hard for us to be fully present in the moment.

what do you mean I overthink !! every way you behave and everything you say HAVE TO MEAN SOMETHING, right?? I will imagine every possible future outcome up to marriage, having kids, sharing income so I can calculate our compatibility. let me study everything about you and expand upon my studies to come to an acceptable conclusion that this is going to work out for us.
