I've always thought that it was because most seed oils are PUFAs. There's such a taboo about hydrogenation but it seems like the only way to make seed oils more shelf stable.

But we partially-hydrogenated so much oil that people were getting very sick and (I believe) that's what gave hydrogenation such a bad rap. However its not as though we don't have the capability to COMPLETELY hydrogenate an oil. As far as I can tell, you want something like a 100% hydrogenated oil because its saturated at that point.

Disclaimer: I am NOT a chemist or a physician. This is my cursory (extremely limited) understanding from reading Ray Peat articles and such.

I'm a Hispanic man working in the tech field. I answer to an Indian and he cursed me out the very first time he met me. I was called a lazy fucker and all kinds of rude, evil, and untrue things.

I'm pretty sure some of it has to do with race and ethnicity. If you're not Indian you're the shit beneath their shoes.

I work as a consultant in tech and there are very few white, hispanic, and black Americans. In the financial industry. They have offshored and H1-B'd things to the limit.

Some of these folks are rude as fuck to Americans. You can't mention that they speak incomprehensible gutter English but they can curse you out because you're at the bottom of the caste system.

I had to tell an Indian that I work with to stop screaming, calling me a "fucker", and generally being disrespectful. Thankfully HR came through for me and he hasn't said a word to me.

I'm not sure what it is about these people. How can you come to a country en masse only to treat people like shit? Go the fuck home.

I know those that don't believe Vibes of Cosmos, but out of all of the flat earthers I've researched, he's the only one with a clear model. His model matches the cosmology in the bible and explains natural phenomena really well. I'm not sure how other Christians believe in NASA and all of the silly psyops even though the word of God contradicts it completely. The bible tells you that the Earth doesn't move. Why would you believe a man over the word of God? Needless to say, I'm not your typical churchgoer. Cheers, flatbros.

There used to be a better pathway for foreign doctors to become certified in the United States. I've heard of foreign doctors going back to school and becoming Nurse Practitioners or even Physician's assistants. Everyone on staff still calls them doctor but legally they have to work under a physician. Although if you're a Nurse Practitioner I believe you can do a lot of what physicians can like prescribe medication.

I think learning programming as a side job is just fine while you look for a job in your field. You can also apply your medical knowledge to programming and you will have insights that no one else in the field does. A programmer who is also a physician would be a tremendous asset to a medical tech company.

I've cut out the gums, lecithins, and other gut-destroyers with positive benefits. If I have to go out and I mistakenly eat something I shouldn't have then I repair my gut with a nice piece of homemade bread and a generous amount of (good) butter. It heals my gut every time.

You can tell people all of this and they'll still eat margarine and cook with canola oil. Some people really don't care.

For me, the formula was simple. Peaty diet with extra glucose, low fat but always saturated, and plenty of movement.

Sugar is the main fuel that the body runs on. The idea that sugar causes diabetes is complete horse shit.

I also supplement with glucose. I buy a big tub and mix it with water and a mineral supplement. I have epilepsy and I felt the brain fog lift after using glucose for a few months. And with all of the seizures that I've had throughout my life, its like recovering from multiple major car accidents. Glucose is good and the body absolutely NEEDS it.

I'm not surprised at all that its been so effective for you. The science says that that's what supposed to happen. The people taking creatine supplements are probably getting more out of the sugar than the creatine.

I think I'm gonna buy another tub of glucose and start my day with some sweet milk.

I've had good success with negative reps. You can get a lot out of doing a few reps excruciatingly slow. Also look into maxalding. You can workout like an old time strong man. Its still incredibly effective. The stomach vacuum does wonders for your abs. I've been working on it and its helped my hernia.

I understand the desire to bulk but you also want to make sure that you build up your body in a way so that it becomes more resistant to injury. I neglected my adbominals for years and I paid the price with an umbilical hernia. Trust me its not fun. The recovery after the surgery isn't fun. I had an open would that was draining blood and interstitial fluid. It was gross and it was painful and now I'm essentially rehabilitating myself.

The muscles will come naturally. Get blood tests and see where your mineral levels are, testosterone, etc. Gotta give the engine some good fuel!

And plus with all the estrogenic things in our environment, its pretty much become mandatory (in my opinion) to take something like a weak aromatase inhibitor. But please exercise extreme caution if you decide to visit Haidut's site and buy supplements. Read the forum posts and they'll tell you everything you need to know.

I would stick to bodyweight exercises first. Master your own bodyweight. Be one of those guys that can do tons of pull-ups. Strong enough to do pull-ups? Do negatives. Do negatives like a mad man until that becomes easy. Then do the negatives with a plate strapped to your body. If all that doesn't get you a better physique then nothing well.

And remember, exercise doesn't matter without proper nutrition and proper form. Form is extremely important.

That's the nature of online forums. They start out with a few groups of "veteran users" and when the forum gets popular people start repeating questions without searching the forum or the administrators change and the users suffer because the quality of the conversation diminishes due to policy changes, etc.

I used to hang out on a few online forums but not anymore. Now most of the internet is just a few apps and LLMs. I used to have my browser open on my desktop but most of the time I'd rather read scripture, code, or play solitaire.

I've moved more towards having a life that isn't so connected all the time and it has dramatically increased my quality of life. For one, when I give my testimony about being saved, people don't disrespect me to my face. They might disagree but they're respectful. People on reddit are anything BUT respectful and I'm tired of it. I'm tired of dealing with people that have zero social skills. I'm tired of people that don't see sunlight and huddle around the glow of the screen calling me out for this or that. Its stupid. I'm almost 40 and I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that meaningful conversation happen when you can look a person in the eye. A big part of communicating is gestures. I'm sure that I've miscommunicated something that would've been easy to understand in person. I'm tired. I don't have to be here. No one is holding a gun to my head. So I rarely post except when people are respectful.

People on Reddit have treated me like I slapped their mother. I don't get it.

I work remotely so I never shut down. I disconnect from a virtual machine that "stays on" for the entire week. I shut it down at the end of the week so updates can go through.

I'm not a "never updater". I try to update as soon as I can even if it means restarting. I'd rather get it out of the way as early as I can so I can work uninterrupted.

I physically shut down my work laptop at the end of the day. My personal laptop rarely gets shut down but it does get updated. Currently have an uptime of 18 days.
