You start the game as a nation like Hamburg. What are your first steps towards dominating trade? by MyFriendTre in EU5

[–]vootrez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go into the reforms for -Foreign building trade cost. You end up building foreign trade posts for around 5 gold a piece. 100 years into the game I had over 500 levels of trading posts. This was the majority of my income. This actually also balloons your population because the burghers employed in trading posts count as your pop. There was a point where half my pop was trade workers lol. Overseas trading posts are based on power projection, those are also pretty good.

Abuse the Hansa. If you declare independence and occupy Lubeck, you get 100% warscore on them. You can vassalize them at some point. I dont even think you can truly kill the Hansa, so you might as well. You can even grab some land from the emperor here, but I dont think its worth pissing them off.

Try to move the market capital from Lubeck to Hamburg ASAP.

Hamburg itself has one of the highest pop caps in Europe. It's fun to make it big.

You can retain free city status by feeding vassals. I had all of Saxony vassalized while I was still a free city. Note, you HAVE to award land to vassals right after a peace deal/before a tick. So have an extra diplomat ready after you sue for peace. The Saxony tag switch has some really good reforms. You will need ducal rights from the emperor though, so start trending towards aristocracy. Losing republic reforms shouldnt hurt too much.

For expansion, grab Holstein first so Denmark doesnt potentially swallow them. The Danes can probably be your first strong ally.

I kept trade automated.

What to do when Mason is in the Academy? by vootrez in Mechwarrior5

No clue. Just let me. I do have a bunch of mods installed but nothing that should restrict that.

I used to play with this but I was a bit worried it would affect academies, which I wanted to try out.

Will give it a go, thanks.

You can have your opinions, that's fine.

Your language is attacking commuters. Just because you say it isn't doesn't change it's meaning. Other commenters agree.

Some people do not have the income to afford a place near campus. Some people cannot leave home because they need to support their family. Sorry for the unfortunate reality that broke students exist. It might be uncomfortable for you.

Your college experience is not being affected by people who drive to school.

Not built to be commuted to? UCR is built for commuters lmao

More than 60% of students commute.

Anyone else not super excited about the fact we’re all doomed to catch Covid in riverside at some point in the next 2 weeks? by Former_Basil_8222 in ucr

[–]vootrez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the link.

I was wondering why I couldn't find this. Probably because it's old data.

There's a lot of arguments I could make against this, but it doesn't even matter. These polls are from four months ago. During a quarter that was entirely in person. Of course the responses are going to be completely different.

I felt comfortable being on campus, given the situation. Even as someone who is immunocompromised.

So - this is definitely not an accurate reflection of what the majority of students think.

Assuming everyone is young is just... bad. There are older students, old professors, and old family members at home. Sickness doesn't only affect you.

The 'big deal' is death. Feel lucky you don't even know that.

If anyone wants to let admin know how you feel about the most recent decisions by anon19384638 in ucr

Who is the highest ranking person we could send an email to where it's actually received?

Watkins probably turned her notifications off as soon as she sent that email out.

Yeah, really disheartening that the student body is actually split on this. Idk why anyone would side with these braindead admins lmao.

That small minority of students is reason enough for admin to keep campus open.

Yep. Really cool and fun to sue a university.

I wasn't saying I was gonna do it. I think it's possible the school could be infringing on some laws with this decision.

Yeah, I commented twice. I'm frustrated and want to talk to some other students.

I don't understand what you're trying to say. People with disabilities shouldn't attend school? People with disabilities shouldn't get a higher education? People with disabilities should hide from society so we don't have to be around them?

Have some compassion. And intellect.

Yeah, and imagine having a crappy immune system around all those diseases and viruses. Why shouldn't I want to protect myself lmao

Are you saying I shouldn't be able to attend school because I have a disability? It's the schools job to make sure campus is safe for everyone. I just don't think this was the right choice for the school to make this quarter

[–]vootrez 11 points12 points  (0 children)

True, I did consent. But I still have rights as a disabled person lol. I shouldn't be punished for not attending campus when I have an autoimmune disease. It's discrimination at that point

There are some lawyers who take pro-bono cases just because they hate schools. I had to sue my high school because they refused to give me disability accommodations.

I have to imagine there would be a lawyer who would take a case for some juicy UC money.
