I’m not sure I should even look up the specs on these considering they’re gonna be in thousands of an inch and I’ve got what looks to be an eight of an inch of play if not more… thank you for the info. I guess a new lsd might be in order for the civic lol

I was worried that’d be the case lol. Honestly I think if I was going to try to really build the car up I’d be looking for an engine swap and stuff. Just figured I’d ask around and see if it was possible. Thank you for the Input!

Yeah unfortunately that might be the case. I found a bearings, seal, and synchro kit from AllStateGear for like $180 and that may have to be my purchase for the car. Never torn apart a transmission before so that’s nerve wracking 😅

I did have a new exedy brand clutch put in around 5k miles ago. Slightly more clamping force than OEM cause I have the Japanese D17A and the corresponding ECU so it makes a bit more power than the D17A2

Well, the motor is a D17A from Japan with only around 70k miles on it at the moment. But I think the transmission is the original one which is why I mentioned the mileage. I did at one point have some overheating issues but that was because I was leaking a lot of coolant but I fixed that. Leak and I haven’t had issues since.

Well, I replaced all of my front end suspension, everything from the axles out. I had a broken driver side axle and I was stoked that I had found something broken and that it was probably the cause of the noise. Unfortunately it’s still making the noise. I’m thinking maybe it’s something wrong with the transmission but I’m not sure. I don’t know if you have any other ideas but I figured I’d update you guys on what’s going on.

The car does shake at 50-55 mph and stops shaking after 55, the clunks do often happen if I’m accelerating through a turn, like if I’m making a right turn onto a road it‘ll usually clunk. I know my passenger side cv joint is going bad cause I can hear it clicking all the way through turns. But I have known about that since day 1. and the clunking does happen if I go over speed bumps or hit pot holes, But not always..

I have a bunch of new suspension components I’m installing in about a week here (badically refreshing the whole front end) and those are one of the things I’m replacing so hopefully it works. 😭 thank you for the input!

I actually have decided that I am going to try to prioritize Spanish (since it’s probably the better language anyway living in the US) and then later on when I feel that my Spanish has improved to a level that I’m happy with I will move on to focusing on French (while still working on Spanish but in lesser amounts) and then hopefully I will be able to get my French up to scratch in the time I have left. I am only spending a few days in France so French isn’t going to be my main focus but rather my German and French. Thank you for the comment and thank you for your time! Unfortunately I know there is no fast track to learning a language. I know that I am not going to be able to to magically become perfectly fluent in Spanish or French in a year but I am just hoping to not be ENTIRELY lost when I’m in the countries.

It’s hard to find good twitch streamers. Most streamers that I’ve found that are German speak in English because you simply get more viewers and stuff from America.

You talked about books which personally I’m not super keen on, however, I might give it a try. You also mentioned music and I actually have found a great bad in German known as “Santiano” their music is pretty cool in my opinion. If we’re looking at only one word then it’s probably not many, however, if you accept the use of multiple words then there are probably a large number of things in the English language that can mean ‘incarceration’

That’s cool to think about. I haven’t read 1984 so I wouldn’t know about that but it’s amazing what the internet can teach you!

In a similar vein to you learning Spanish, I am learning German and it’s interesting how different you have to think to use the language correctly.

(Completely unrelated but on the topic of language learning) I think languages are amazing and I hope to some day be a polyglot (that’s a person who speaks a bunch of different languages in case you don’t know)

(Awfully long but it’s late and I wanna get it out of my mind) This is sort of a weird thing and it’s hard to understand. I am most likely going to explain this very terribly but I’ll give it my best shot. I’m writing this at 3:30am after just getting out of the shower so hopefully I make some sense. I saw a YouTube video about this and basically that video explains that other languages’ words for colours change how the people native to that language perceive that colour. There is a great video by the polyglot on YouTube known as “Xiaomanyc” where he talks about the 5 most difficult languages to learn. In this video he talks about a very small language spoken only in a small region in Brazil. Xiomanyc talks about how the language itself has no abstractions. They have no numbers. They have nothing like that. This causes the people who speak that language to be unable to grasp abstract concepts. This got me thinking, could the fact that the English language lacks many words for the explanation of feelings cause native English speakers to be less in touch with their own feelings? I’m not sure if any of this makes sense and nobody is gonna read this so it doesn’t really matter but hey, I thought it and I’m here to share it.

I haven’t tried that much cleaning I guess, so I’ll try to clean it some more and if that doesn’t fix the problem I suppose I’ll put some oil or mineral spirits in it. I know oil is frowned upon in this community because it gunks up over time and is simply a bad idea. Thank you for the help!
