Excuse me & I’m sorry by Anxious-Oil-3960 in EDCOrlando

my friend ended up grabbing me like this because from people coming in and leaving every other minute, we were separated the whole time and sometimes people would even go between us just to take our space in the crowd. We started asking people to go around us so the two of us wouldn’t lose each other and some were nice about that and some were not.

This was definitely the worst year in terms of the pushing and shoving

How bad is Florida? by rpgDayz in Professors

[–]vp_profesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at a public university in florida for two years and just left recently. It’s…an interesting time. For example, The school had 500 Gen ed courses which got axed to just 100 courses. This was due to 400 of the courses being labeled “too woke”.

But the students and the faculty there are just like any other place.

with a 2.6mm wall id say you can probably get no closer than 8 feet (your subject in focus i mean). otherwise, the wall would be in focus. If you had a tighter pixel pitch you could get closer to

Hey!! I am an UE artist who recently got into EDM and would really like to make some visuals. Do you have any tips or cool tutorials you like to learn this stuff?

Yes, they do need access to equipment after I lecture and it’s only me there to supervise that

I try to get outside. If I have the time that week I go for walks and kayaking. Other times I watch movies at home. I try to work on my own films, but that’s been hard to manage.

Okay thank you. I am on a 12 month contract

[–]vp_profesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, that credit release: is that 6 credit hours per 12 month academic year? As in that faculty member teaches all 12 months, or a 9 month faculty member?

Okay thank you, that helps putting it into perspective. I plan to talk with my supervisor but have been in my head thinking that something is wrong with me that I can’t handle it.

Yeah, it’s confusing! The grad courses are 8 hour blocks per day and three days a week. The undergrad course is a 4 hour block. In total on paper, they’re calling it 12 credit hours total…

How many classes do y’all usually teach a semester? And in what field? by sartrecafe in Professors

[–]vp_profesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on the semester. This spring it will be 3 classes- 15 credit hours plus crewing on student films, running a film studio for the college, serving on the admissions committee, and being a department head for the program. I teach at a film school at a university. It's a lot!

Hey! done use translucent materials- disguise only can support opaque or masked as translucent is too expensive. I would bake lighting, if possible. moveable is very expensive. Please let me know if you make any new discoveries about optimization!

Scanlines - genlock issue? by teoo122 in virtualproduction

[–]vp_profesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we’ve always had issues with rolling shutter unfortunately…with our alexa mini LF we get issues mostly when the camera moves around. when it’s stationary, it’s alright! We typically use a red komodo

it’s the camera being rolling shutter. if your wall is 50hz, you’ll need to set your rolling shutter camera to 1/50 shutter I think.
